see my post in the rape thread, I talked about Marissa Alexander, since she's more relevant to why Stand Your Ground is a bull**** ass law, I just am not referring to the white child molester by name by principle because it's a tragedy that Marissa Alexander is not well known enough that I don't need to link to the story. She needs to be a household name, not an actual murderer and child molester.

Exactly, that's the lady that only shot off warning shots and got completely destroyed when Stand Your Ground should have applied to her case as well.

Yup! Stand Your Ground is about as sensical as the "gay panic" defense that let Harvey Milk's murderer (not to mention countless others) off.

It makes sense that a state like Florida has it though....where white republicans were able to push it through and have it on the books. They need their guns on them at all times to kill anyone they want!

So yesterday the psycho on General Hospital now thinks he's his dead twin, and he's kidnapped his twin's son, who the psycho believes is his son, and he's about to drop him off a bridge to save him from being just like him/his brother when the episode ends, leaving a cliff hanger. So obviously I'm psyched for today's episode.

But to my chagrin, not two minutes into today's episode it gets interrupted by "Special News Coverage" about the royal baby. Apparently it's about to leave the hospital and we'll get our first view of him. So, nothing is even happening. This is basically "Special News Coverage" telling us that there isn't any news, but there will soon be news, and they're informing us of the imminent news so that you'll be ready for the actual news, but in the meantime we're going to keep telling you of the soon-to-come news for the next fifteen minutes.

Fuck that baby.

dj i wonder if u think the zimmerman thing was racially motivated and id like to hear why if you do

i dont have as big as a problem with stand ur ground as you guys but im not sure it played as big of a part in the case as a lot of ppl beleive

As they dig into Zimmerman's past post trial they are finding a lot of evidence to suggest that he's racist but as far as his verdict goes. I don't think him getting the not guilty was related to race.

Stand your ground is just a fucked up law that's so wishy washy that no two cases are the same and they can treat it differently on a case to case basis.
