When I worked at my local library, I used to do that all the time! I double dog dare you to tell me **** off

I don't know how tall you are, but from pictures you definitely seem...imposing. I don't know about King of the Library, but I would certainly be nervous about telling off a large, black dude, being a fat white kid. That might sound kinda racist, but this is America, and in America, fat white kids are scared of large, black dudes they've never met.

I wouldn't say that out loud, but I find it incredibly rude when I'm trying to do something and there's somebody hanging around looking at my screen. I go to the library to do most of my research and essay writing, so you're not going to see anything exciting... you're just going to annoy me when I'm trying to do an assignment. I'm glad one of the libraries here has "cones of silence" - they are round, plexiglass cubicles with a door that are completely soundproofed. And the glass distorts any images you'll see on the screen or whatever, so there's an element of privacy.

And yes, I'm actually trying to socialize her (yeah Killer is female. She's bitchy I guess). Things seem to be going well. It's been 18 hours since I introduced the new fish which is a record.

Try short black stocky dude. I was pretty pleasant and approachable. People tended to ask me where books were quite often and I'm soft spoken so they wouldn't expect me to unless my wrath when I did.

So they basically advocate watching porn in public then with those cubicles?

Her being a female and a killer doesn't mean she's bitchy, it just means she's a killer.

I would ask you to remove a moth too. I get scared they are going to touch my face or creep into my mouth. Plus the sound of them hitting the lights is awful. I actually don't mind spiders however. Bees are my biggest fear though.

I effing hate moths too Jess, but I'd be your knight in shining armour if one attacked you! Some things are worth conquering your fear for (or pretending you have, anyway...) :shycouch:

Oh that's awesome. Here there's just a pointless little wooden divider that covers nothing.

Damn. I was imagining a six-foot five behemoth scaring little old ladies while trying to explain to them the finer points of the Dewey Decimal System.
