Who's idea was it to mix artificial coconut flavor with Mango and put it in a cereal? I hate my stupid ass for buying it. Completely ruined the taste of the milk.

So, where I work they play a top 40 radio station. Which I consider a bit of a misnomer as it seems to me that they play 6-8 songs all day (that's been true for years and years).
Two songs in particular seem to be played 50 times in an 8 hour workday. Now if you like these songs, that's fine, they're not my cup of tea but I only viscerally despise these two songs due to the brain-melting frequency that I'm stuck with hearing them. One is Macklemore's "Thrift Shop" and the other is Taylor Swift's "I Knew You Were Trouble". Those two songs are played every 15-30 minutes or so, nearly always back to back in that order. So, sometime around 7am (I had been cat sitting for my lady friend, I expected the cats to get me up around then so I filled their food dispenser thingie late last night and went home so I could sleep in) my brain decides it's going to play the Swift song in repeat mode for hours on end at full blast into my brain's ear. UGH. The only solution, after two hours of trying to ignore it and/or get by brain to shut down, was to either 1. drive my fist through my eye socket and physically rip out the part of my puny brain that was doing that (not out of the question except that I don't know what part of my brain does that) or to give up on sleeping in, put on some coffee and turn on my music (not a speck of Taylor Swift to be found there). For mere practicality's sake I decide on the latter. The very first song my crazy iPod decides to play... OK, sometimes, depending on my mood, this can be a skip-aheady song for me, the reason I have it is I love Neil Young and most of the Re-Act-Tor album, plus I'm really fond of *anything* that can be so dedicated and true to being THIS aggressively stupid. But, this morning, my iPod knew, as it so frequently does, what my musical medicine needed to be. T-Bone was the perfect brain bleach for scrubbing Taylor Swift out of my morning. True, she'll be back in force tomorrow, but if I can't sleep in on my day off at least I can have a few hours peace. Thanks Neil. Last edited by Paul Smeenus; 04-04-2013 at 05:14 PM. |

Finally got back to my home from Mexico yesterday. Fucking 5 hour border lineup then I got randomly selected for secondary screening, which involved driving under this x-ray thing, and then sitting in this one spot for an hour telling this one guy who just seemed to be wandering around that I only had my luggage and some books I was bringing back up for work, then they let me go. No searching my car, just wasting my damn time after sitting in a five hour lineup, I was pretty pissed off, I mean I know it could have been worse but I left Rosarito (about 20 miles from the US border) at 11 am and I didn't get on I-5 until almost 6:30. I ended up making it a little over halfway, and then finished the drive off tomorrow, but I pretty much lost two days of work and now I never want to see the interior of my car again.

I worked in a factory for a number of years and that was the most torturous part of the job. You could set your watch by their damn playlists. Not to mention the endless commercials in which they compensate for the lack of visuals by making them extra annoying and the station promos telling you how much great music they play. It's years later and I still can't stomach Billy Joel. Fuck just take a risk you douche bags. Even if you stick with your safe artists they recorded whole fucking albums do you have to play the same track every time?
