judging by the name etc I am hoping this is a troll comment lol, If not do a little google digging. Tube Amplifiers, radios etc were the staple and is what most gear prior to the 1960s used to reproduce music. Currently a lot of people enjoy custom built, or rebuilt vintage tube amps and stereo set ups for High end, HiFi audio applications. They are also extremely popular to this day as Heads and Amps for guitarists and musicians. Right now I am working on a hand built and wired Mono tube amp to use with my turntable for low level listening, the Amp in question however is a Admiral AM tube amplifier out of a large console stereo I m in the process of restoring however it has shorted out to the metal chassis resulting in me getting shocked at almost every step of test and diagnostics even with bringing it up on the Variac

Depends on the tube actually. Some amplifiy the sound signal, some clean it up, rectifier tubes help convert the 120vac over to dc, some stabalise the power signal, some the source.... lots and lots of different tubes for different purposes

Indeed. That's how I stay in the music. Luckily my library has a three hour limit. Not that great, but still, far better than an hour.
