Goddammit Amazon if you want to keep me buying music from you you have to tell me if an album is clean or not. Unless it says "CENSORED" or something in the title, I'm expecting it to be uncesored, this is some serious bullshit.

I don't know if my most recent gripe is with Amazon or Godspeed You! Black Emperor, or GY!BEs distributors, but I pre-ordered their new LP which had the release date of 15th October and I still haven't gotten it yet. I've been told it could take anywhere up to the middle of next month.
If its Amazons fault then it's not good enough. If it's the bands fault then maybe they should announce an albums release like normal people do. Well in advance rather than start selling it unannounced at a gig then rush the release through in the two weeks after that. It's a good move in the sense that it's exciting but for a band that bang on so much about buying records and using record stores you would think they would have their distribution sorted. I could have been listening to this album for weeks now. No wonder people download. |

It's fascinating to me that they're called "Frosties" over there instead of "Frosted Flakes" as they're known here. I'm always curious what kinds of marketing data leads companies to make those sorts of decisions.

Yeah I dunno. They've always been "Frosties" here. Maybe to differentiate them from "Corn Flakes", though surely people wouldn't get that confused? Mind you, we used to have "Sugar Smacks", then they became the much more risque "Smacks", and finally disappeared altogether. Damn it! I loved that cereal! Everything's chocolate nowadays: chocolate is fine, but I don't want it with my breakfast, curse you!

It seems to me that it would just have been easier to keep the name the same instead of having to print something else entirely. I mean, there doesn't seem to be too much of a cultural significance to the name or anything. It could work either way. But at this point, I'd probably feel like if our Frosted Flakes became "Frosties", they were some sort of Chinese bootleg cereal. |

Never heard of a cereal with 'wheats' in the title. I do not go cereal shopping regularly though
