Also, small talk is certainly better than big talk. :)

True. Small talk can avoid a conversation that would be better off being pushed to the back of my mind for years later.

That is all.

Haha... I can't say I don't know the feeling, even while being in the field myself. But in the military, I had IT supervisors (high ranking NCOs, in my case) that thought an IP address was an actual location.
And I had to bend to their will.

I actually had this one E-6 that was so stupid, he thought that if you turned a compass on its side, you could find out the elevation of the ground....

That was the kind of person in charge of my section, which was IT...

I don't why but so many people want to so much about me at first when I will do it slowly. The same people who hate me are the same ones who want to know everything that I do. Damn that is dumb in my view.

He just carried on to throw them into the back of the truck as if there was nothing important in them. I'm surprised we got everything back in one piece. They didn't even need to be shipped on a plane, so I can't even imagine how hard it must be to drive a truck to it's location (sarcasm)

Ironically, it would probably be more likely to suffer damage on the road than in the air: no pot-holes in the sky! Going by road there's so much that could happen (slam on brakes, bump over speedramps --- do you have them there? --- swerve to avoid little old lady in little old car, someone tailgating you just a little too close) whereas in the air, well, there's nothing to hit (unless the plane has a mid-air collision) and it's pretty much takeoff okay and landing okay, then there should be nothing much that can happen in the interim.

I would think if you were to run a poll or take a survey you'd find more damage was done during road freight than air. I know when I worked in the freight biz, I was in airfreight, and can't ever remember anyone's cargo arriving damaged.

Oh, except for once, but that was when a plane flew into a mountain, so you can't really count that. I'm serious.

I don't mind small talk at all. I think it's polite and shows you're more than just a pile of cash to these people.

What I HATE is when two cashiers talk to EACH OTHER OVER you, like as if you weren't there! Hello? I'm the customer! Without me you ain't getting paid, you don't have a job!

Oh, and people who, when I used to buy those stupid chat-style magazines for my sis, would FLICK THROUGH THEM as they were barcoding them. Like, if you want the mag, buy it your ****ing self! I didn't spend money on this trash to have you pawing through it, commenting on how big Jennifer Aniston's arse is, or whatever!

So, my ex-wife has been meeting up with guys on the internet. She's only known the one she's with for like a month and is already having unprotected sex with him. She's not only disrespecting herself and her body, but she's putting herself and my son in danger by bringing these guys around. Today he stops talking to her and she calls me crying. I've told her all along what he was doing to her, but she is so desperate for attention that she didn't care. I just wish that there was some way that I could get through to her that I only have her best interests in mind when I talk to her :\

I really wish threads wouldn't pop up in the search when the person who replies to the thread is on ignore. It's not really a waste of time clicking on the thread, but I naturally click the thread when it pops up without looking at the name of the person who posted. Guess I could teach myself self control, but hell...it's annoying.

Have you actually ever used the ignore button here? I didn't think anybody on a music forum could piss somebody off enough, to warrant going on ignore.
