Problem is that you are limited till you are 18. The department of labor strictly governs how minors can work. I would suggest trying to get in as a stocker in a grocery store. Its not the best job, but you generally can wear headphones and just work. You might try a temp agency. It doesn't pay the best, but you can try different things. Working general labor normally doesn't restrict long hair. Anything involving customer service or dealing with the public is more likely to have you get a haircut.

I'm also looking for a job just now.

places I'd work:

record shop, bar, club, restaurant, cinema, coffee shop, supermarket, gym/leisure centre, clothes/book store...etc etc.

A record shop is a bit of a pipe dream, but there are a few good ones around here so maybe when I'm at University...if i keep asking intermittently...i might get in sometime. I just don't want to work in a call centre or an office or anything ****ty like that. I've worked in a call centre before, and it's f'ucking awful.

I've been trying to get a job lately, but unfortunately I left the job-finding thing till too late. All the jobs are taken.

You have no idea how much it irritates when me when I go to a record store and see albums in the wrong sections and know it wouldn't be like that if I worked there. But of course, I can't actually get a job at one of those places.

Maybe I'll put 'moderator on a music forum' on my CV and hope for the best.

I don't think you can work at a bar if you're underaged.
