1. What’s something your brain tries to make you do and you have to will yourself not to do it?
Feel guilty. 2. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week? Seen: I met my friend’s new rescue dog on the street, and was told all the results of her doggie DNA test, which was really interesting. Read: Nothing, I’m afraid (been very busy doing as-usual last minute online shopping for my son’s birthday and Christmas). 3. Are humans better at creation or destruction? Equally adept at both, I think. 4. Do people have a right to be happy or should they have to earn it? Everyone has a right to be happy. 5. If a perfect clone was created of you down to the atomic level and someone who knows you well has a gun pointed at the both versions of you and they then have to decide which one was the "real" you, what would you say or how would you convince them to spare you and shoot your clone? I’m hoping the gunperson who knows me well would be one of the few people aware of something very personal in my background – which would make it easy to prove the “real” me. (I’d feel bad when they shoot the clone, though.) 6. At what point is a technologically enhanced human not a human anymore? When it does not have the capacity for empathy. |

1. What’s something your brain tries to make you do and you have to will yourself not to do it?Bite the tip of my tongue. I enjoy pain there for some reason. I even put hot peppers on it sometimes. No idea why.
2. What’s the most interesting thing you’ve read or seen this week? been pretty out of the loop with working tbh 3. Are humans better at creation or destruction? they're good at both but destruction is just easier 4. Do people have a right to be happy or should they have to earn it?Tbh I don't know what a right to be happy even means. If they can manage to be happy good for them. Some people won't be happy regardless of what you do. A lot of it just comes down to the luck of the draw. If you're born with some mental issues that cause you to be unhappy and for whatever reason the treatment falls short of making you happy or the side affects make the treatment not worth it to you... That sucks. But what is there to do about it? 5. If a perfect clone was created of you down to the atomic level and someone who knows you well has a gun pointed at the both versions of you and they then have to decide which one was the "real" you, what would you say or how would you convince them to spare you and shoot your clone?I would bribe them 6. At what point is a technologically enhanced human not a human anymore? good question and I have no idea Marie's answer would be the closest you could get with regard to traditional speciation. But with technological enhancements the old rules are superceded. It's possible to enhance a person's mind to a super human level through technology while they still have the same reproductive dna that would allow them to reproduce. It's a tricky question. |

Well that would be the distinction between mortal/immortal, would it not? Humans aren't exactly unique when it comes to dieing.
I think really it would be more like when their cap capabilities are so much more advanced than ours that we aren't even in direct competition. Idk |

Of course, but I meant it would distinguish animals from their technological counterparts. It seems to me the most profound difference.
Like with the example you give, or things that came to my mind like sexual attraction etc., its a scale and you have to draw a line somewhere, there might be exceptions and so on.
