*cues up Tchami's "Afterlife"* I've got questions, I've got questions, spiritual questions...
1. How has the COVID-19 pandemic changed your life for the better? How about for the worse? 2. To what degree do you use social media? If you do use it, do you consider a net positive to your life? 3. What is one problem you foresee being solved in the next 50 years? 4. You are forced to go into armed combat with an intelligent orangutan that knows jiu-jitsu - you can bring one weapon (or object) that is not a firearm - what do you bring? 5. You're going to a party with all the cool kids - you want to show them how cool you are - what beverage do you bring to the party to share? 6. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? If so, what book was it? Saturday's not over yet folks, not til you answer the 6-pack! Last edited by SGR; 09-26-2020 at 05:59 PM. |

1. How has the COVID-19 pandemic changed your life for the better? How about for the worse?
The only way in which it has improved my life is that I have more time for reading and cooking. The bad influences could be summed up as increased social anxiety and more depressed feelings 2. To what degree do you use social media? If you do use it, do you consider a net positive to your life? I only have a facebook account which I never used until some friends decided they preferred facebook messenger to whatsapp (why?) so now I use it as a messenger platform. I avoid it for anything else still 3. What is one problem you foresee being solved in the next 50 years? If bikes in the future will have tires that don't go flat every time some ******* leaves broken glass on the road that would be great 4. You are forced to go into armed combat with an intelligent orangutan that knows jiu-jitsu - you can bring one weapon (or object) that is not a firearm - what do you bring? A boombox blasting Animal by Ke$ha 5. You're going to a party with all the cool kids - you want to show them how cool you are - what beverage do you bring to the party to share? Whisky. No idea how cool that really is but it started to be my beverage of choice as a teenager just to rebel against the over-sweet cocktails girls around me were drinking and I felt very cool about it then 6. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? If so, what book was it? lmao I don't think I need to give my answer to this (there are many such books actually)

1. How has the COVID-19 pandemic changed your life for the better? How about for the worse?
Hard to know the scope of it yet. It's been a time of personal growth but also a lot of financial stress and I miss my friends, so it's a negative in the grand scheme of things. 2. To what degree do you use social media? If you do use it, do you consider a net positive to your life? Facebook every day, mainly for messaging. It's a toxic time sink. I also moderate a music forum and it's alright I guess. 3. What is one problem you foresee being solved in the next 50 years? Well, Donald Trump will definitely be dead. 4. You are forced to go into armed combat with an intelligent orangutan that knows jiu-jitsu - you can bring one weapon (or object) that is not a firearm - what do you bring? Befriend him with a banana and then we both go after whoever is forcing us to fight each other. It would not only save us, but potentially thousands of injuries and deaths down the line. However, if being a violent lackey is the only thing that the orangutan knows, would I have unknowingly ruined their life by attempting to save them? Maybe using the orangutan in my plot to kill their former master would put them in the mindset that I am now their new master, ready to pit them against anyone. The orangutan's thirst for violence may not end when the commands to attack stop. I could begin to send the orangutan to murder more people or deprive it of its true nature. Even if I did give it an outlet for violence, at what point would a new opponent wield the banana just as I did and cause my own death? It would only be a matter of time. It would be better to take on these opponents myself to provide the orangutan with violence by proxy. Though if nonviolence was my goal all along, would it really be worth it? 5. You're going to a party with all the cool kids - you want to show them how cool you are - what beverage do you bring to the party to share? Koolaid because for one it's a pun and for two it's poisoned 6. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? If so, what book was it? Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas made me want to become a journalist and sparked that pursuit until the reality of the modern news industry was too disillusioning. John Cage's Silence: Lectures and Writings was a paradigm shift on the way I understood music and reality. More recently, The Medium is the Massage blew my mind and opened me up to a new aspect of criticism.

1. How has the COVID-19 pandemic changed your life for the better? How about for the worse?
Are you ****ing god damn kidding me? I have one friend who I haven't seen in months but because everywhere else is closed and we have mad coupons and deals it's like torture every day for months. I go into work and get hit with a neverending line for eight hours a day every single day and I want to stab them all in the throat and watch them bleed out. 2. To what degree do you use social media? If you do use it, do you consider a net positive to your life? I use here and only here and it's the majority of my human contact now that work is just a mindless meatgrinder. 3. What is one problem you foresee being solved in the next 50 years? That's like asking how much younger do you think you'll be in 50 years. 4. You are forced to go into armed combat with an intelligent orangutan that knows jiu-jitsu - you can bring one weapon (or object) that is not a firearm - what do you bring? A crossbow. 5. You're going to a party with all the cool kids - you want to show them how cool you are - what beverage do you bring to the party to share? Jim Jones Kool-Aid 6. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? If so, what book was it? The Star Wars expanded universe novels were pretty massive for me when I was a teenager.

1. How has the COVID-19 pandemic changed your life for the better? How about for the worse?
Lost a job I've been wanting to leave for a while. Lost a few aquaintances/friends to Covid. Really bad year, socially. 2. To what degree do you use social media? If you do use it, do you consider a net positive to your life? Scant usage. Neutral. 3. What is one problem you foresee being solved in the next 50 years? Personally - finally doing what I love to do for a living. Society - nothing. People are in love with problems. They only want to solve them, not end them. One problem is almost always replaced by another. 4. You are forced to go into armed combat with an intelligent orangutan that knows jiu-jitsu - you can bring one weapon (or object) that is not a firearm - what do you bring? Glass of water to wake my silly ass up from the dream. 5. You're going to a party with all the cool kids - you want to show them how cool you are - what beverage do you bring to the party to share? Southern Comfort. And hope to get laid with someone I actually like. 6. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? If so, what book was it? Notes From Underground, Fyodor Dostoevsky Before I read it I had no idea people felt that deeply and were as simultaneously as clueless about those feelings in others. And that there was still hope of love. |

I for one quite like waiters/waitresses wearing masks. You ever had that experience where a waiter/waitress would bring you your food, set it down on the table and then start talking while their spittle just gets spread all over the fresh food that was just laid in front of you? Quote:

1. How has the COVID-19 pandemic changed your life for the better? How about for the worse?
I love being home with my son and not having to go to the office. However, working remotely has become a bit overwhelming (I report to over 20 people and their demands have increased). Feeling very anxious and having sleep problems. 2. To what degree do you use social media? If you do use it, do you consider a net positive to your life? Hardly at all – I just don’t have the time to keep up. MB of course, and just texting/phone with family and friends. 3. What is one problem you foresee being solved in the next 50 years? With ongoing advances in technology and research I think certain types of cancers will be eradicated. 4. You are forced to go into armed combat with an intelligent orangutan that knows jiu-jitsu - you can bring one weapon (or object) that is not a firearm - what do you bring? An extra-extra-long sword 5. You're going to a party with all the cool kids - you want to show them how cool you are - what beverage do you bring to the party to share? Absinthe drip cocktails with those beautiful glasses and spoons. 6. Have you ever read a book that changed your life? If so, what book was it? Reading my father’s old copy of The Bhagavad-Gita (Swami Prabhavananda and Christopher Isherwood translation) as a young teen. |
