FYI liking Aladdin is more racist than owning slaves.

I'd agree that in hindsight that Hades is better than Genie since, well, let's be honest once you're over a certain age Robin Williams just isn't that funny (and I'd definitely argue that Aladdin has aged rather badly because of it, but it was at least fresh at the time it came out). But Hades still feels like leftovers because of it.

The hydra part was... okay as a showcase for CG cel animation, but as far as Herc as a hero, he was entirely generic and forgettable. Likable, but not memorable.

Oh hell the **** no. Gaston is by far the most fun of any Disney villain. He's just so delightfully vain and moronic that it makes him somehow more inhuman as a villain so long as you're not bent on taking him too seriously. His villain song is not about making him seem more evil, just more hilariously douchey, and that makes him all the more fun. Not to mention it turns the generic (at the time) Disney hero on its head, by making him too perfect, too handsome, too desirable. So therefore there must be something seriously wrong with him. Seriously, go watch the Gaston villain song again and tell me it isn't one of he best things Disney ever did.

And to add on to that, count on one hand how many times you've met an ******* who acted like James Woods. Now count on your other how many times you've met one who was the embodiment of what your peer group valued but who turned out to be an entitled *******. That's the genius of Gaston.

Most *******s I've met were legit more like Hades than Gaston.

Hades: Yeah, that outfit does make you look fat.

Gaston: You look good in that outfit, BUT IT WOULD LOOK BETTER ON MEEEEEE

Now you're just trying too hard. Or you got IRL Gaston's cock so far down your throat you can't even admit it without slitting your wrists.

But you still know "Gaston" is one of the best Disney songs ever made.

Srsly though, no matter what you want to say about Beauty and the Beast, Gaston is still one of the all-time most fun things about all of Disney and things in general.

Hades is way more interesting, because he wasn't even a bad guy. He just didn't want to die. And considering how vital his role as god of the afterlife was, he kinda had a point. But no matter how important your job is, or how important you think your role is, everyone is fallible, as well as replaceable, and if you can't own that and deal with it, you're just going to end up being the very thing that screws you over.

Gaston was fun, and worth it even if just for the endless YTP fodder he provided. But come on, the whole "cool popular dude as a bad guy" thing was so old by the 90s. It's like you've never watched literally any 80s movie featuring a high school.

The Gaston song is funny. The songs in Hercules are legit catchy. But hey, you're an ICP fan, so I guess funny is your be all end all. You do you.

He was just James Woods with a chip on his shoulder. Anything you might use to describe him as anything else is just trying too hard.

He was the ultimate cool guy ******* and always will be. He's the larger-than-life-cool-guy-guy ******* who can only exist in a show tunes movie. His voice is once in a lifetime, his character is the worst guy ever to get laid, and his nefarious side could only ever be expressed in a 90s Disney movie. And even considering that he's still a top five villain of any genre for whom fun is a requirement. To consider him anything less is to be a Hercules fan.

Holy **** you're comparing Hercules songs to Beauty and the Beast songs. Drop dead.

As it happens, I had all the questions written out and then my computer crashed and I lost the document, so I had to try to remember them. Obviously, I didn't remember well enough.

Thanks m8, it's quite true. And one thing I've taken on board from Frownland - perhaps the only thing I ever will - is to try not to ask questions that require a simple "yes" or "no", so that makes it a little tougher to come up with good ones.

Nah, Hercules is still > Beauty and the Beast and every other Disney movie. Better on every level, and I've already said why.

Kinda funny how one of the first things I said when you tried to seriously analyze and critique Disney films/characters was that it was try hard and pointless 'cause it's all 'bout the feels, and now you're like "How dare you give me an analysis, it's pointless, you're trying too hard, Gaston gives me the feels and here's an analysis on why!"

Like, did I Gaston bait you, or something?

1. If you were a dog, what breed would you be and what dumbass dog name would you have?
Golden Lab probably and likely something stupid like Goldie
2. What are you doin tonight, beautiful?
Who are you talking to? Not me, if you're calling me beautiful. But if you mean me, well I'm doing the usual; looking after Karen, then spending the rest of my time in my room. The neighbours have got used to the sounds of sobbing and the repeated "Why me?" coming through the wall by now.
3. If you were in a Sophie's Choice situation where you had to choose whether your favourite living artist or your favourite living director dies, which would you choose?
Both
4. What technological advancements do you foresee over the next 50 years?
Technology moves so fast, who knows? Probably realistic holograms of people. I don't know. I won't be here, so why would I care?
5. What's the last thing that you purchased from a brick and mortar store?
If you're including the likes of Tescos, then groceries.
6. When you die, who will find you?
Future archaeologists.
