I'm honestly not sure if I'm failing or succeeding at this.

right my point of that post was clearly that simply because something is athletic does not inherently make it a sport. yoga is athletic. yoga is not a sport. not comparing yoga to competitive video games, just letting you know that you totally misread my post.

I think the general point being made, both intentionally and not, is that sports is such a nebulous concept that the only things keeping out esports are the preconceived notions of "sports fans".

right, and the only reason esports fans care is because of all that resentment over being picked last in gym class for their entire teenage life.

na my main argument would be that video games require incredibly mental skills, it's a thinking game. i'm not gonna call a thinking game a sport. it's in that same category as chess for me i guess. i totally respect the amount of skill that it requires, and it takes incredibly dedication to learn the ins and outs, just as much as any sport does. but it's a different entity.

Sports are people who are younger than you. F. Ex I would say to Qwertyy, "you're both dorks, sport."

The only reason "real" sports fans care is because they don't like their jock sports heroes being compared to nerd sports heroes.

Give any real time to any esport game requiring serious hand dexterity and you will eat those words. You can know StarCraft back to front and still be garbage at it because you can't translate that knowledge to your hands. It's a pretty large component of the difficulty level.

my favourite "sport" is who can *** first. it takes serious dexterity to be able to jerk off that fast.

tbh if nerds didn't get so butthurt over these kinda things ppl probably wouldn't take so much pleasure in trolling you. but so long as you dudes are gonna cry over being told hitting your keyboard isn't a sport, i'll be here with an umbrella.
