1. If you could place yourself in/on any album cover, which would you choose?

2. Which song lyric most confuses you?

"I got soul but I'm not a soldier"

What the hell does this mean? Or even:

"Are we human, or are we dancer?"

Same band, wtf?

3. Do you play the DVD commentaries?

I do. Love the Breaking Bad, Community, Fist of Fun and Snuff Box ones especially.

4. Who is your favorite Wu-Tang member?

Ghostface Killah. Awesome in the group itself, and has the best solo discography.

5. Describe your favorite local venue.

Dog & Partridge. Pretty run down pub, with a nice rugged outdoor area. Sloped and cobbled, with a stage at the back.

Spoiler for Pic:

6. Describe your favorite local band.

I really don't know any bands in the Bolton area. We don;t have much of a local music scene.

1. If you could place yourself in/on any album cover, which would you choose?

2. Which song lyric most confuses you?

I don't pay much attention to lyrics, but the easy answer would be "Hotel California".

3. Do you play the DVD commentaries?

Always. I feel jipped if there isn't commentary.

4. Who is your favorite Wu-Tang member?

Used to be Ghostface, but these days I can listen to Tical all day, so Method Man probably, even if he doesn't have the most solid discography. Of course, ODB is just so bizarre that I love him.

5. Describe your favorite local venue.

I don't know much in the way of local venues. The Norva in Norfolk, Virginia is the only non-amphitheater-with-a-corporate-name that I've spent any time in. Pretty cool. Never heard of any sound problems, and while it doesn't get the most underground acts out there, they still have some pretty good shows.

Spoiler for Pic:
Now I'm mad I missed Paul Westerberg.

6. Describe your favorite local band.

I've been to one local show around here, and that was some deathcore show in a seafood restaurant. Can't say I had any favorites. I just don't feel like there's much of a place that's a focal point for any music scene around here.

1. If you could place yourself in/on any album cover, which would you choose?

Mayhem's Dawn of the Blackhearts which features a photo of their vocalist with his head shot open and his brain spilled on the floor...
But seriously

I just wanna be in there

2. Which song lyric most confuses you?

"I've got a reason for heading home
It's not serene,
It don't make sense to me.
I've got the four eyes blooming under half of my bed
Seems to tingle as the razor ball, it cover and claw
I see it shine
I see it stare
Holding heart
In my hand.
Take the master morgue and make her have him sitting offside
Let the glory boy of Mr Henry have it on rye."

Among many others.

3. Do you play the DVD commentaries?

Not really, but I usually do if it's a movie I've grown exceptionally fond of, or just want to hear what they were thinking during a certain scene.

4. Who is your favorite Wu-Tang member?

Ghostface or Raekwon

5. Describe your favorite local venue.

A hot basement, a ladder that leads to nothing, a very dangerous pipe jutting out from the ceiling (or floor, if you will), a little nook on the side with couches and often merch.

6. Describe your favorite local band.

This Computer Kills - Technical and melodic screamo
Fall Silent - Hardcore from the old days
Iron Lung - The gnarliest powerviolence duo there is. I guess they're not local anymore though.

1. If you could place yourself in/on any album cover, which would you choose?

I think I could pull this off:

2. Which song lyric most confuses you?

Anything out of "Telegram Sam" by T Rex. That song is great, I love it, but it makes no sense.

3. Do you play the DVD commentaries?

Literally never.

4. Who is your favorite Wu-Tang member?

I don't listen to WTC =(.

5. Describe your favorite local venue.

This is a really tough one. I love Bottom of the Hill, Thrillhouse Records, the Submission, and of course 924 Gilman. None of these places have even remotely good PAs so any band that plays there sounds ****ty but it's always still a blast. BotH is kinda small, bar to the side. Most I've seen there is maybe 250 people at a Joyce Manor show. It was bananas. Thrillhouse Records is a record shop with a basement in which it is highly illegal to host shows in. The ceiling is about 6ft tall with support beams that jet down about a foot so if you're tall, have fun. Moshing is pretty much prohibited because... you just can't. Someone will die. Still, a great place that smells like buttsweat, cheap beer, and punk rock. 924 gilman... you just have to be there.

6. Describe your favorite local band.

At the moment? Still Tony Molina. I listen to his solo album and EPs and the stuff he did with Ovens every day. Basically really short songs, at most 2 minutes usually 45sec to a minute. Lots of heavy, metallesque riffs. Cheesey Thin Lizzy style guitar solos. Vocals that remind me of Dinosaur Jr. And lyrics I can relate to about being an underachieving bum. Great stuff.

EDIT:

For favorite venues, I forgot to mention 1234GO! Records. another record store based in Oakland that host shows from time to time. Good shop. Good place. Good people. Live in the Bay Area? Listen to punk? GO THERE.

I love that you're getting into T. Rex. Marc deserves more love from strange young people.

Spoiler for Another fine example of Marc Bolan's nonsensical artistry....:

1. If you could place yourself in/on any album cover, which would you choose?

I wish I could live in the entire universe that would seem to exist in the cover and contents of this masterfully orchestrated gem.

Or the world that is undoubtedly locked into this beauty of an album.

I'd like to make it clear that I'd want to exist as a being within the world of the album, and not as a being on the cover, if that makes sense.

2. Which song lyric most confuses you?

This song is a staple of all classic rock radio stations, but the lyrics make absolutely no sense at all.

What the fuck is this song even about? It's a sick groove and I really dig it, but it's nonsense all through.

Spoiler for Heart - 'Barracuda':

3. Do you play the DVD commentaries?

I have before. I know I did with "The Breakfast Club" because there was a director's cut and it was pretty interesting. I was going to do the same with "The Exorcist" but I was too stoned and slightly terrified at 3am and didn't want to sit through it again.

4. Who is your favorite Wu-Tang member?

I've actually never heard the Wu-Tang Clan but I used to have a manager that pronounced my name "Rizza" just because it reminded him of some dude from that group so...

5. Describe your favorite local venue.

I haven't been out and around enough to have a favorite.

6. Describe your favorite local band.

See above. Seattle's got a lot to brag for on legendary status, but I don't know of any local talents of today.

How on Earth is it possible to have gone your entire life without hearing this somewhere?

What the hell is a holy diver?

3. Do you play the DVD commentaries?
Only if I'm bored and it's a movie I really like.

4. Who is your favorite Wu-Tang member?
I don't know crap about Wu-Tang.

5. Describe your favorite local venue.
I've not been to enough shows to really have a preference.

6. Describe your favorite local band.
I've not seen enough local bands to have a favourite.
