Tell you what.. When 2012 rolls around and it's a week before destructo time, I'll have an extra expensive couple bottles of beer, how bout that?

Yea, I know.. I'm no fun.
Truth is, if a super large comet was heading toward Earth and we all had a week to live, I wouldn't do anything out of the ordinary. I'd spend time with my family.

I think the 'end of the world, what would you do?' question sparks a lot of interesting thoughts. In theory you should use every penny you have, and do anything with it. But I know I'd end up just depressed, feeling unfulfilled waiting for the end to come whilst being scared as sht. It'd be horrible if you just started living your life (doing the things you've always wanted to) a week before you were about to die.

No, that wouldn't work at all.
I guess I should have figured out a way to add more terror to the word "friends".

I don't think people would have much of a good time. The impending doom of your own imminent death would invade too much. People think they'd have a great time, but I doubt they would. And if they wasted their last chance on this earth on something that didn't even fulfill them the way they thought it would, it would only add to the regret.
I think most people would find themselves wanting more to be around the people they love and find comfort in.

I'm sure there are exceptions though.

But there would definitely be alcohol involved. Especially for me. To take the edge off.

Yeah, I think when you ask the hypothetical question people think there would be great freedom in having a last week on earth, but in reality everyone would be high on hard drugs and/or drunk, depressed, waiting for the end.

And you could forget traveling anywhere. All travel routes would be clogged with people, and all airplanes, trains and gas stations would be shut down.
