Clint Eastwood. Weird age gap aside... 2. If you were allowed to create one new nationally observed holiday what would you celebrate, and how would you celebrate it? National Childhood Day. Instead of going to their mundane jobs, all adults go back to elementary school for a day. You learn your times tables, then you play tag at recess, followed by chocolate milk and pizza for lunch. At your afterschool program, you might even touch your first boob behind the monkey bars in the sawdust playground. 3. What would you like to have written on your tombstone? "Check the floor god's got nice tiles". 4. If you could have one faucet in your house/flat provide any liquid besides water what would it be and why? Tim Tebow's tears. 5. So far, what has been your favorite year/age and why? It's hard for me to distinguish between which year was when what happened because I have a really poor memory... So, I'll just say age 9, '96/'97 which, I think, were some of the best "simpler times" I had. More recently, for whatever reason Spring 2007 stands out- girls, booze, trips to the river... Good times. 6. If you could make a sandwich out of anything, what would be on it? Honestly, I'm just not big on sandwiches. I do like Sam's subs from Maine though. I'd probably just get a Sam's veggie sub. Uneventful...

Hollywood would give it a happy ending and have actors with terrible English accents. Much prefer Ken Loach or Mike Leigh to make it. Paddy Consindine. 2. If you were allowed to create one new nationally observed holiday what would you celebrate, and how would you celebrate it? National masturbation day oh wait a minute... 3. What would you like to have written on your tombstone? He always smiled on the inside now fuck off you are standing on my ribs. 4. If you could have one faucet in your house/flat provide any liquid besides water what would it be and why? Oh you mean a tap Lager for obvious boring reasons. 5. So far, what has been your favorite year/age and why? 1988. 16, free, going to gigs every other week and discovering the joys of wine, women and song. 6. If you could make a sandwich out of anything, what would be on it? English mustard with a really good ham, mature Cheddar cheese, tomatoes, rocket, cucumber, red onion and basil leaves on good old soft white crusty bread. If i'm poor then luncheon meat and red sauce (tomato ketchup).

My immediate inclination: 2. If you were allowed to create one new nationally observed holiday what would you celebrate, and how would you celebrate it? That's a hard question. I don't really know, I don't really like holidays much. But it would be something that involved ridiculous costumes and drinking, as if Halloween and St Patrick's Day had a baby. 3. What would you like to have written on your tombstone? It feels like a cop out but I kind of want to be cremated and spread around somewhere. But assuming I have a tombstone... I dunno. If I ever write anything really good, maybe a quote from that. 4. If you could have one faucet in your house/flat provide any liquid besides water what would it be and why? Scotch. Although that would get me in trouble. Beer of some kind might be better. Hm. 5. So far, what has been your favorite year/age and why? 2001 was pretty good--16/17 and the last year when I really knew what was expected of me before all the crazy bull**** of the past decade or so set in. On the other hand, it's not like I'd want to go back to that time and 2009 (24/25) was, while perhaps the strangest, definitely the best year I've had in some time. 6. If you could make a sandwich out of anything, what would be on it? Right now, I really, really, REALLY want a sandwich from this place in Portland that has some of the best meat substitute I've ever had, all sorts of delicious sauces... mmm. But I'm not going to drive an hour for a sandwich, so... if I could make one, I'd make that.
