1. What do you immediately look for in a partner?
Personality first of all. When talking to a girl i always try to read their personality, i always go for the ones that are weird yet really down-to-earth and friendly.

2. What are the qualities you look for in a long lasting relationship?
Just someone that i can get along with really easily and have a good laugh with.

3. Has MB turned you into a elitist snob?
I try not to be but i guess it has to some degree.

4. Women should not drink pints. Discuss.
They shouldn't be allowed outside the kitchen. Just kidding, they can drink whatever the hell they want. Plus a lot of cool ladies drink pints.

5. Do you ever look for music yourself or do you rely on others to point the way?
A bit of both. Both ways can lead to great discoveries but also some real turds.

6. What annoys you most about MB members?
Nothing too annoying. Just that some members tend to be very ignorant.

They can drink whatever the fuck they like as long as they're not vomiting & shouting outside my house at 2am.

It's a very personal thing for me. I find it hard to listen to people's recommendations because it's very unlikely someone with suggest something that fits in with my mood in that moment.
Plus I hate carbon copies of a band. If someone gave me a link and said 'Hey check out this band, they remind me of The Fall', my response would pretty much be 'No thanks, If I want something Fall-like i'll listen to The fucking Fall'
So if you suggested an album i should check out and i've listened to it within 2 years of you telling me about it, consider that a bonus.

6. What annoys you most about MB members?
At the end of the year when people make those album of the year threads and post about 60 average/crap indie albums. And then they get all precious with you when you say you can't think of anything offhand that stood out for you and that you're just an elitist snob or closed minded or something.

I think some people feel the need to talk up recent albums just for the sake of it. I'd rather listen to 50 odd years of rock history and listen the best of that than just take the bland stuff the most recent year and make it out to be something that it isn't.
And if it is any good it'll still be talked about the next few years anyway so it's not like i'll miss out.

A sense of humor. If you can't laugh, I'm not interested.

A combination of humor, intelligence and patience. All three are required to put up with me in close quarters for any period of time.

I try to make a point to check out anything recommended to me, but the lion's share of what I listen to I find just by digging around.

Her smile. I'd lie and make it some personality trait but honestly I'd much rather have a girl who has a genuine appreciation for life than someone who can expound upon the finer didactic philosophies of Dostoyevsky's literature.

Security and companionship. I'm too old to babysit someone and too spiteful a curmudgeon to deal with the politics of relationships. Just be open and expressive of your feelings instead of all that passive-aggressive nonsense.

No, I was born that way. Actually I try to listen to stuff my friends recommend, though sadly I rarely enjoy the same material as they do anymore.

A general rule of thumb but I've known quite a number that could drink me under the table a few times over. And I'm not exactly a lightweight.

A little from column A, a little from column B. I usually pay attention to the music that people hype here, and I get excited when it's something new that I really enjoy on first listen. I do a bit of personal investigation on the side too, seeing as I know what I'll like and dislike by description.

I don't think there's anything here I could illuminate without sounding like a stupendous hypocrite, so I'll abstain for the time being.

Taller than me, eyes, personality that is different than the average joe. I know that sounds strange but I really have come to abhor average guys over the past few years.

2. What are the qualities you look for in a long lasting relationship?
I dunno, I never really have been in a long lasting relationship that I was completely happy in, so I guess the qualities I normally look for are bad. But in general I have a big thing with the guy having some sort of sense of fun, otherwise I get really bored, also humor that matches with me tends to be good.

no, it has made me the anti-elitist snob, cause I have to add some balance to all the elitists here.

Both. I tend to look more myself though, because I am an extremely picky person when it comes to music. Only certain music really appeals to me, but I love listening to all sorts of music in general, I just won't listen to it frequently
