1. How did you let in the New Year?
I let it down in Antarctica cranking some bubbly out at midnight, drinking, and watching the sun sparkle down on the ice having deep and meanfuls with a friend. The day was spent eating a good meal then waiting around for a flight back to New Zealand. I may have opened a beer on the American Airforce run plane which got taken off me which my classmates ripped me out for! 2. What are your hopes for 2010? To get financially sorted, get prepared for travelling in 2010/2011 and look after myself - a.k.a not get stick thin and sick, overemotional or lazy. 3. On reflection, what was your personal highlight of 2009? Making it to Antarctica was the highlight of most likely my life, at least so far. I managed to battle depression and come out myself again, I got accepted into a restricted post graduate course which proves that I am becoming more academically sound in this world. I also made a lot of amazing friends and met a boyfriend now an ex who brought me back to life but also made me realised who I was and was not. 4. Your favourite album of 2009? Placebo - Battle For The Sun and Muse - Resistance 5. If you could turn back time what would you change about something that happened last year? That I was less hard on myself. 6. In 2010 I predict... Graduation, a new job, savings, making new friends!

1. How did you let in the New Year?
Meditated by candlelight. No joke. I prefer to do something personal on NYE, not get drunk, stare at a TV screen and jump in the air at midnight like a lot of people. 2. What are your hopes for 2010? That I: * Travel to Europe * Start recording music * Get a new (i.e. real) job * Get a girlfriend The first two I already have the money/means for. The second two are pretty up in the air of course. 3. On reflection, what was your personal highlight of 2009? Learning web development and making my first website. Greatest personal project I've ever done. 4. Your favourite album of 2009? I guess Them Crooked Vultures, but that may also be the only 2009 album I've listened to, lol. 5. If you could turn back time what would you change about something that happened last year? Honestly I can't think of any serious regret for the year, aside from maybe not putting out more job applications (but ~50 was a pretty good number anyway). Overall 2009 went pretty well. All I can really think of are things that didn't happen that I would've liked to, which isn't terribly noteworthy. 6. In 2010 I predict... That people will start pronouncing the years as "twenty-ten", "twenty-eleven" etc. again, like in the '90s. Even in 2000 it pissed me off to no end that the common pronunciation changed to "two-thousand, two-thousand one, two-thousand two..." So cumbersome and irritating. Thank god that's over with.

Tbh I'm more interested in companionship than in meaningless sex. Of course, I'm still a virgin so I may be underestimating the value of one night stands, but it sounds like a lot of work (esp. for someone ridiculously introverted like me) for not a whole lot of gain.

I hope I stop hating people after knowing for more than 2 years. Never was able to stand a person for more, and I'm already beginning to hate the people around me after knowing them for only 11 months now.

I have absolutely no intention of settling down, though I understand that it's harder to live a traveling/nomadic sort of lifestyle while in a relationship (especially when both people have to maintain jobs). Hopefully I could find someone with the same kind of 'wanderlust' I have. If not, no big deal - freedom is more important to me right now anyway.

I have no idea what you mean by "suspicious", but then I never knew my goal of "get a girlfriend" in my earlier post was going to undergo this much scrutiny in the first place.
