I wish I could appreciate and enjoy snow like people from warmer places do. I've gotten so used to it though - it's just a fact of life here.

me too, I've been skiing since I was 6. Snow for me is just a very painful thing to fall on... and that happens to be white.

I don't get how people complain about hot weather at all. I could easily put up with warm weather instead of the desolate, grey wintry skies and perpetual rain we get here. I do like the rain just not all the damn time. Warm weather means you can have all the windows and doors open, wear shorts and T shirts all the time and the beer just sweats straight back out of you. Plus you get a tan and it's easier to get up in the morning with the sun shining through the windows. Plus there is always a lot more flesh on show too

I think you're making a kind of a strange connection between it being hot and it being sunny. This is definitely not the case in a lot of hot places. I spent two summers living in the subtropical climate of Florida and not only was it incredibly, oppressively hot 24 hours a day but we had torrential downpours every afternoon like clockwork.

Also with the kind of heat you get in place like Florida in the summer, you most definitely do not want to leave the windows and doors open. Aside from all the bugs (another bad thing about hot climates) it gets uncomfortably hot and stuffy without the AC on.

That sounds perfect to me! We got around 3 weeks of decent sunshine here this year so it's common for Brits to bitch about the weather!

I promise that you would not be saying that if you had experienced summer here for every single year of your life. The grass is always greener.
