1. What do you like to have for breakfast?
Just black coffee usually 2. What perfume/cologne do you wear? Victor & Rolf Spicebomb 3. What’s the sickest you’ve ever been? One of the times I caught the flu when I was younger I think. 4. What was your first computer? It was a Windows 98 computer I believe. Used to play Carnivores 2 on it and had a blast. 5. Which accent is your favourite? I like that southern draaaaaawl 6. What would you choose to be if you weren’t a human (non-animal)? I'd be the bejewled copy of the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám that went down with the Titanic so I could toss myself in a fire and help prevent WW1. |

Thanks for your long answer, Celladorina.
I'm sorry that things were so rocky for you for so long. _______________________________________________ 1. What do you like to have for breakfast? One day I woke up so late that I had to cycle to work with no breakfast and nearly fainted. Since then, the day usually starts with coffee 'n' sandwich. 2. What perfume/cologne do you wear? Special events only: something my daughter-in-law gave me in a small spray-nozzled bottle. The disappointing modern equivalent of a perfume bottle atomizer air bulb invention I suppose. 3. What’s the sickest you’ve ever been? Probably tonsilitis as a kid. I was in bed for about two weeks. "When I was a child I had a fever. My hands felt just like two balloons." I experienced that exact same sensation for days at a time. 4. What was your first computer? Very like TH's, mine was also light grey in colour. I got it when a school I was in was selling off its old language-lab equipment. I still remember being blown away by the quality of the graphics when my son contrived to open this computer game on it:- 6. What would you choose to be if you weren’t a human (non-animal)? Voyager spacecraft - the only physical thing we've made that has left our solar system. At one level, that's our greatest achievement as a species. So, yeah, I can see myself as humanity's greatest achievement; in many ways I already am.

I feel the same, Lisna. Cella, I was riveted reading your answer and admire how you've struggled yet remained such an empathetic person. So glad that you and your parents were able to repair your relationship and enjoy the happier existence you deserve.

I'll give this a go for once. Better late than never.
1. What do you like to have for breakfast? Few things make me happier than going out for Eggs Benedict and hot coffee on a Sunday morn before my antiquing escapades. 2. What perfume/cologne do you wear? Beard conditioner. FRAGRANCE FUN FACT: The ozone layer smells faintly of geraniums, and the center of the galaxy tastes like raspberries. 3. What’s the sickest you’ve ever been? Each dose of the COVID vaccine/boosters have left me shivering, convulsing uncontrollably, and in pain from head to toe for 2-3 days. A doctor claimed that this is indicative of a great immune system, but that provides little comfort when I’m dancing the involuntary shuffle. 4. What was your first computer? I remember it fondly - a Magnavox 386 SX (single-speed) 20MHz processor with 640k of RAM and an 80MB hard drive. It featured both 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives and shipped with MS-DOS 5.0. PC Magazine archives from 1992 indicate it retailed for $1,595.40 ($3,226.23 adjusted for inflation). I paired it with an Epson Action 3000 24-pin dot matrix printer that printed any color you wanted as long at it was grey. And it wailed like a banshee the entire time it printed. The move from the XMODEM to ZMODEM protocol was life-changing as we could resume a crashed download and not lose the hours invested in downloading a single .BMP. COW.TXT was my first download, and likely one of the earliest shared memes on what later became the internet. Spent all my days on dial-up bulletin board systems in those days. (Evidently not much has changed.) 5. Which accent is your favourite? Stephen Fry. I wish I had his accent. Or his fantastic mind. 6. What would you choose to be if you weren’t a human (non-animal)? I'd say an Oblique Strategies deck. I could inspire artists the world over to overcome their creative blocks. And as an added bonus I'd have a cameo appearance in Linklater's Slacker. (Photo of my deck.)

Thanks! It sucks being in bed all the time, 24/7, and seeing nothing of the outside world, so it's nice to bring a little of the outside world inside for her. Bit of colour, cheers the place up. I used to get her plants, then they kind of had no decent ones and we ran out of space in the garden to plant them when they began to die indoors, so I switched to getting flowers. I wasn't able to get many originally as I only had one long narrow glass vase, but I searched out my grandad's old one, a big wide heavy thing, cleaned it up and now there's plenty of room for two or three bouquets a week.
