Maybe just settle for the 5 o'clock

1. Do you prefer wired or wireless keyboard/mouse?
100% wired. It may be a pain with the cables, but at least I know there isn't going to be any issues with bad signals or flat batteries. **** wireless.

2. How many times a day do you have tea or coffee?

Twice, one with my breakfast and one with my dinner. Generally.

3. What talent do you have, if any, which you feel is being wasted, or not used to its fullest potential?

My writing duh. Always thought I would at least have given some publisher the chance to sneer at it and throw it on the slush pile before I was 50. Now I'm nearly 60 and it's never gonna happen.

4. What, if anything, would you consider acceptable or understandable as an excuse for murder/manslaughter?

Quite a few things really. Self defence if it can be proven. Accidental, ie pushing someone over and they hit their head etc, again if no malicious intent can be proven and you have a clean record otherwise. Any woman threatened by an abusive husband, boyfriend etc (or maybe girlfriend but it's usually males) like some guy who beats his wife and goes to sleep - knife that ****er before he wakes up. Or a bastard who tracks his ex and tries to attack her or mess with her kids. I think the laws on murder are still too draconian and they need a new option in between murder and manslaughter.

5. Do you, generally, spend more time looking back or forward, i.e., do you keep going over or looking to the past, or are you a person more concerned with the future?

Usually looking back, wishing I had done things differently. At my age, with no kids and no partner, and Karen's deteriorating condition, there's really not often a lot to look forward to.

6. Will apes be our masters?

If they can stop flinging their **** at each other for long enough.

But seriously...

6. Given the opportunity, would you rather be a bird or a fish?

Bird. The idea of being able to fly is so compelling. Still, birds do have to forage and depend on humans for their food, whereas fish have everything they want there in the ocean. But I don't like the sea, so yeah, bird. Preferably of prey, preferably falcon, kestrel or eagle. But I'd probably end up being a sparrow or some ****.

1. Do you prefer wired or wireless keyboard/mouse?
Wireless. We have wired at work, wireless at home – but strangely, the wired mouse isn’t as responsive. Plus the wire is annoying.

2. How many times a day do you have tea or coffee?
It varies. Usually 1-3 Ito En Oi Ocha green teas over ice throughout the day; hot caffeinated black coffee in mid-morning; 1-2 decaf Earl Grey or Scottish Breakfast teas in late afternoon/evening.

3. What talent do you have, if any, which you feel is being wasted, or not used to its fullest potential?
Musical – was always able to play decently on most instruments I picked up, but was never formally trained.

4. What, if anything, would you consider acceptable or understandable as an excuse for murder/manslaughter?
Child sexual and physical abuse, defense of others or self-defense against murder, defense of others or self-defense against extreme sexual and physical abuse.

5. Do you, generally, spend more time looking back or forward, i.e., do you keep going over or looking to the past, or are you a person more concerned with the future?
Sort of a combination of past/present/future, all at the same time, in a perennial loop. I’m a constant worrier despite appearing calm.

6. Will apes be our masters?

It's already happened here.

But seriously...

6. Given the opportunity, would you rather be a bird or a fish?
Definitely a bird, for the freedom of flight and escape. I’d love to be able to fly – I even love flying in planes.

Hey that's just unfair. No ape deserves to be compared to Trump! :yikes:

I like the name - I gave it to one of the heroines of one of my never-to-be-published novels: Kestrel Stormeye. Well, that was her alias, sort of. She was really the empress Brazen Firelock, but don't tell anyone. :pssst:

1. Do you prefer wired or wireless keyboard/mouse?

Wireless, but I do think wired has its place as well.

2. How many times a day do you have tea or coffee?

As often as I can, but usually only once or twice.

3. What talent do you have, if any, which you feel is being wasted, or not used to its fullest potential?

I could develop into a pro billiards player, but they don't make enough money to survive.

4. What, if anything, would you consider acceptable or understandable as an excuse for murder/manslaughter?

Only self-defense and/or obvious accidents, but that can be difficult to prove.

5. Do you, generally, spend more time looking back or forward, i.e., do you keep going over or looking to the past, or are you a person more concerned with the future?

Past. The future is unknown and no amount of thinking about it can make anything a guarantee. At least with the past you can learn from it.

6. Will apes be our masters?

I, for one, welcome our new insect overlords.

But seriously...

6. Given the opportunity, would you rather be a bird or a fish?

A bird. Fairly certain I'd get eaten by less things.

I won't tell anyone, but - I will tell YOU to please stop saying "never-to-be-published"! You're a great, engaging, prolific writer - not to mention funny as hell. :wavey:

Yeah, you know, you're right about my writing. I've thought about it, and it's not impossible. Let's see. So, there's a plane flying to LA, passes over my house. Suddenly the hatch develops a fault, opens. Before they can force it closed one guy gets sucked out. Due to amazing luck he falls to earth but the roof of my house is being replaced and so he amazingly falls, through the roof that isn't there, onto my bed. Shocked, I go to phone for an ambulance.

As he's thanking god for his miraculous escape and having cheated death (who isn't too happy: nobody plays fair with poor old Death. It's the same thing with his buddy Fate) he turns his head and happens to see on my computer screen the draft of my latest novel. Intrigued, he begins to read. When I come back, he tells me that he is a publisher and is very interested in reading more.

Hey, it could happen.

Oh no wait: he died on the way to hospital.
Damn. I hate when reality asserts itself.
:D
