1. What's the craziest/most dangerous thing you've ever done?
Only thing I can think of is, as a teenager, riding between two subway cars with a friend for an extensive period of time because we were trying to avoid someone in the sardine-can packed car behind us and couldn’t get into the sardine-can packed car in front of us. 2. What crazy thing would you never contemplate doing? Skydiving. 3. What's the longest you ever went without sleep, why and how did you feel after it? About 48 hours, when my kids were sick or my mom was sick, or simply due to insomnia (which I get from time to time). I always felt pretty depressed and disoriented afterward. 4. What is the hottest thing you have ever eaten? My Louisianian aunt’s dark roux-based seafood gumbo, into which she'd put hotpeppers and a dash of Slap Ya Mama extra-hot seasoning for good measure, and would get insulted if you didn’t eat it. 5. How far would you/do you go to be the life of the party? Not far at all; the notion of me as life of the party is hilarious. I’m essentially a wallflower. 6. Ever had a run-in with Larry Law? If so, how bad was it? Never had a run-in, and I hope to keep it that way, especially after reading rostasi’s story which is very sad. Condolences. |

1. What's the craziest/most dangerous/stupidest thing you've ever done?
I've done more ballsy things, but the closest to death I ever (knowingly) got was when I overdosed on xanax, oxycodone, and other pills. 2. What crazy thing would you never contemplate doing? ur mum lol 3. What's the longest you ever went without sleep, why and how did you feel after it? No that's not three questions, it's one question with three parts. 36 hours where I took acid and rode 10 hours home when it was over. I felt exhausted and weirdly wired. 4. What is the hottest thing you have ever eaten? I grew some red thai dragon peppers and they were mostly fine, but one of them was especially intense. Had a bit of a delayed response that almost paralyzed me because it hurt to breath, and somehow a bit got in my sinuses and tears were rolling. "Luckily" only lasted ten minutes, but it felt like forever. 5. How far would you/do you go to be the life of the party? I'll pick up a dancefloor if the music's good and am usually friendly with my party supplies, but I wouldn't call myself the life of the party. I'm obviously the best part of the party but I keep it sidestage. 6. Ever had a run-in with Larry Law? If so, how bad was it? More run outs than run ins.

This week's theme is Do you walk on the wild side? I have no idea where the wild side is, how to get there, and if I ever did they would more than likely run me out as an interloper from Boringtown. 1. What's the craziest/most dangerous thing you've ever done? You know who you're talking to, right? This is me. Well... I've hardly ever done anything crazy or dangerous - oh wait. There was the time when I was lowering my sister's orthopaedic bed and somehow it got caught on her wooden tray, which had been left beneath it. Kind of standing up. It was one of those that slot into the bed so it stays secure, like a small plank of wood. Anyway it caught the bed as it came down and jammed it, and I could neither raise nor lower the bed, and had to get the tray out somehow. Given that it had more or less come further down than it could go, as it were, it was now like ready to snap down as soon as the obstruction was released. So my great idea was to kick the tray quickly out from under the bed where it was jammed. Somehow I thought I could retract my leg quicker than the bed would fall. I didn't do it, but if I had I believe I would have lost my leg, as it would have been akin to sliding my leg under a descending guillotine blade. when I thought about how ****ing stupid I had been, how I would have either died of shock and blood loss and how Karen could not have called an ambulance (not that I wouldn't have bled out before one could arrive) it scared the **** out of me. So I guess that was crazy. And dangerous. 2. What crazy thing would you never contemplate doing? Almost everything. I'm not someone who goes in search of thrills. 3. What's the longest you ever went without sleep, why and how did you feel after it? No that's not three questions, it's one question with three parts. Maybe a day, between overnights at hospitals and two separate all-night radio shows when I was younger. In the former case, cold, sick and disoriented, in the latter, strangely euphoric. In general I find it hard to stay up beyond maybe 6am. I usually go to bed at 4, but then I don't get up till 11:30. 4. What is the hottest thing you have ever eaten? I don't eat hot stuff. Maybe a stew I microwaved too long and it burned my tongue. I know: is this guy a wild man or what? 5. How far would you/do you go to be the life of the party? I have always had an abiding hatred of parties. I don't drink, smoke or do drugs, I dance terribly and I was always painfully shy, and people sense this and rather than accept it, they make you the butt of jokes. So if I had - absolutely had - to go to one, this would be me. 6. Ever had a run-in with Larry Law? If so, how bad was it? No I'm a law-abiding citizen with very good alibis. And I pay off the local cops. Not really. Or...? @ Rostasi: that's absolutely terrible. I'm so sorry about your girlfriend. That must have been harrowing. Why did the cops ram your car? Did they think you were black? Wearing those mirror shades, probably everyone looks black to them.

Like I told Batty more than once, you're welcome to try, but I'd advise bringing a good flashlight, a shovel and a lot of tape. She's been dead for over 25 years now.

1. What's the craziest/most dangerous thing you've ever done?
Urmm, not sure how close I actually came and don't care to find out but I'm pretty sure I was close to serious trouble several times with sleeping pills. Have learned to control them seriously since then. 2. What crazy thing would you never contemplate doing? Bungee jumping, skydiving, anything to do with heights. 3. What's the longest you ever went without sleep, why and how did you feel after it? No that's not three questions, it's one question with three parts. About 36h. Nothing too outrageous. 4. What is the hottest thing you have ever eaten? Probably some type of salad in a posh restaurant in Bangkok. I stopped eating it as I couldn't feel a thing anymore, kind of loses the point of eating if your mouth is numb. 5. How far would you/do you go to be the life of the party? Once on acid I spun a multicoloured lighted stick for what I guess was like an hour or so. Not only because it was brining pleasure to my tripping friends but because I was also quite captivated by it. It's a very fond memory for all involved. That's about it. 6. Ever had a run-in with Larry Law? If so, how bad was it? Latest run in was with Malaysian immigration, which I described elsewhere. Most serious before that I guess was when I was smoking pot in my village with some friends and the police "jumped" us on the pier. We managed to toss the pot in the sea, but they did proceed to search us, particularly me since I looked the most dodgy at the time I guess (long hair, grungy look). Nothing came out of it.

1. What's the craziest/most dangerous thing you've ever done?
I tried to buy hash from Portugese drug dealers in Lisbon when I was black out drunk and argued with four of them in a dark alley when I realized they weren't giving me what they had advertised. 2. What crazy thing would you never contemplate doing? Have kids. 3. What's the longest you ever went without sleep, why and how did you feel after it? No that's not three questions, it's one question with three parts. Maybe caught a wink or two in 48 hours as I traveled from Manchester to Edinburgh after a full day, barely slept in the worst hostel/bed of my life, then did Edinburgh for a full day, then traveled overnight to Belfast by bus and ferry and slept none of that. My first day in Belfast was spent in a hotel room sleeping. 4. What is the hottest thing you have ever eaten? Some middle eastern restaurant hot sauce where they have signs everywhere saying "just a small dab for the love of god". I squirted that all over. Took a huge bite. Wow. 5. How far would you/do you go to be the life of the party? I am the complete opposite of the life of the party. I am the one in the backyard smoking. 6. Ever had a run-in with Larry Law? If so, how bad was it? Too many to name. Never been arrested though and the times I've called them always ended up better for the other party than I. |

No. The theme will be revealed before the Six-Pack is posted, to give people a chance to think about what the questions will be, and also to make me more of a self-important, self-indulgent prick than I already am.
Anyway, two days from now isn't Friday. U mad bro?

So, it'll be the listless Saturday 6-Pack humdrum divulge.
Why would you think we'd sit around for a couple of days wondering what questions you would ask - anymore than sitting around thinking what topic you'll decide to deliver? |
