Anyway, first come first served, sorry TH, ain't nobody got time to do both.

1. Do you talk/walk/snore/anything else noteworthy in your sleep?

Don't snore thankfully (my boyfriend does so I sleep with earplugs), but grind my teeth, retainers help with that.
I also routinely pick my nose, for some bizarre reason, and occasionally cause nosebleeds.

2. What is/are your favourite Shakespeare play(s)? (splitting between comedies/tragedies allowed)

Tried to read some of his plays about 20 years ago, couldn't get past a few pages because of the ye ole English oldspeak. Was planning to give it another try at some point, some extracts sound amazingly forward thinking.

3. What sports have you played?

Basketball, table tennis, but not involving joining a club.

4. What is your most memorable wild animal encounter?

Maybe monkeys in Bali, there was a lot of them and just seemed too intelligent/aggressive so we ran out of there as fast as possible!

5. Who is your favourite Spice Girl?

Gerri Halliwell. Seemed a bit bonkers and fun to be around.

6. How adept are you at carpenting/woodworking?

Very little, although ironically my father is a carpenter.

How could I possibly know? I'm asleep! For all I know, aliens abduct me every night in my sleep and leave an exact clone, undetectable from the real thing, in my place. Wow. Now you have me worried. What's that crack in the wall? Was that there before?

Oh, and DOWN WITH THE DUTCH!

I'll have to go with four - the ones that make up what's known as The Hollow Crown: Richard III, Henry IV Part I, Henry IV Part II and Henry V. What a trip.

Oh, and DOWN WITH THE DUTCH!

@jwb that whale story is gorgeous

I'll just answer all of them:
1. Do you talk/walk/snore/anything else noteworthy in your sleep?
I don't walk, talk, or snore, but I make little sounds, I think they're similar the short 'hm.' you can use as a verbal nod in conversation (but apparently it souds a bit more troubled than that). Sometimes they're loud enough to wake me up.
2. What is/are your favourite Shakespeare play(s)? (splitting between comedies/tragedies allowed)
tragedies: Macbeth is my second favourite because it's just so gothic and atmospheric, but King Lear wins because it's the most moving one that I've read.
comedies: I think Much Ado About Nothing is the wittiest one, but Twelfth Night is my favourite because: 1. the quasi-lesbian tension (and Sebastian and that captain are pretty ****ing gay too) 2. my namesake Maria is a bad bitch 3. I'm a twin so even though me and my sister are very non-identical I still ****ing love the twin identity switch trope, and when it ALSO adds gender bending it's even more delightful. As You Like It also has a few of those elements but somehow it doesn't quite feel quasi-lesbian there
3. What sports have you played?
Football (what you Americans call soccer), horse riding (my sister went along with the football thing for me and I went horse riding with her) and a few tennis lessons at which I was incredibly bad and I hated it
4. What is your most memorable wild animal encounter?
1. A bear on the side of a highway while on vacation in Canada; one of the people I was with was a reckless manchild who jumped out of the car to take better photos even though the bear wasn't that far and we all freaked out.
2. One time I was cycling back to my village from Amsterdam at night and I came across a barn owl: it sat in the middle of the road in the light of a street lamp. It just kept sitting still very calmly and looked at me as I cycled past it (pretty closely). It kind of gave me My Neighbor Totoro vibes
5. Who is your favourite Spice Girl?
sporty spice of course
6. How adept are you at carpenting/woodworking?
Not at all, unfortunately; I never learned but really want to

1. What level of education did you attain/Are you still in education?
masters degree, phd student now
2. What is your opinion of schools in general?
school is a good thing and I'm glad it exists, but like pretty much any other kid I didn't enjoy it and school as it is needs a lot of improvement: better payment for teachers and a less suffocating environment with more attention to students as individuals
3. What is/was your favourite subject at school?
history. I had very good history teachers who taught their classes university lecture style, it was the only subject that never bored me and where I actually paid attention and took notes
4. And your least favourite?
PE by far, but if I have to choose a theoretical subject then economics
5. What do you think was the most important life lesson you learned in school?
how to deal with people and be adapted to society well enough to function (although my sister deserves the credit for that, school was just the necessary environment)
6. What is your favourite song about/against education?

1. Do you talk/walk/snore/anything else noteworthy in your sleep?

There have been times when I've been told that I occasionally talk or snore but it seems to be very infrequent.

2. What is/are your favourite Shakespeare play(s)? (splitting between comedies/tragedies allowed)

I've read bits and pieces of Shakespeare over many years but I've never gone deep enough to know enough to have a favorite play of his.

3. What sports have you played?

Rugby, baseball, ice hockey, volleyball, lacrosse, badminton, croquet, ping pong. If bowling, billiards, & darts are considered sports, then those as well.

4. What is your most memorable wild animal encounter?

Probably when I was fishing off the coast of Rhode Island several years ago with 3 friends. One of my fishing pals was reeling in a nice, big striped bass (which took him about 20 minutes to reel in) and just as he got it within view right next to the boat, and was leaning over the side to gaff the fish, a large shark (estimated to be 12 feet long) swam up from the depths, opened its mouth and ate the striped bass with one bite. My friend was left with only the head of the bass on his hook.

5. Who is your favourite Spice Girl?

6. How adept are you at carpenting/woodworking?

I earned a living doing it for a few years and I never had any complaints about my workmanship.

1. Do you talk/walk/snore/anything else noteworthy in your sleep?

I snore and had a few sleepwalking incidents as a kid. Sometimes I'll wake up and talk gibberish at anyone who's around and get frustrated when they laugh or don't understand.

2. What is/are your favourite Shakespeare play(s)? (splitting between comedies/tragedies allowed)

Hamlet.

3. What sports have you played?

I was on baseball and basketball teams as a kid.

4. What is your most memorable wild animal encounter?

I was on a hike when a big black rattlesnake rattled at me from under some weeds on the side of the trail. The sight of a pissed off snake is disturbing on a really deep instinctual level and my lizard brain took over with a surge of caveman panic. I ran about a half mile away until I tripped, fell, and realized I was safe.

Bonus recent encounter: I was outside with my runt shiba inu Leo when a hawk swooped in after him. Before I could even register what was happening, a murder of crows came in and started fighting off the hawk. A second hawk came in to defend his friend they all duked it out right over our heads. They all flew off but I'm pretty sure the crows won. I rewarded them with trail mix.

5. Who is your favourite Spice Girl?

Scary Spice.

6. How adept are you at carpenting/woodworking?

Not very, just haven't put much time toward it. I've made a box guitar before.

1. What level of education did you attain/Are you still in education?

Bachelor's degree. It'd be cool to go back but I can't **** with the debt so I just use what's out there to try to teach myself.

2. What is your opinion of schools in general?

Learning should not feel like prison.

3. What is/was your favourite subject at school?

Journalism/school newspaper.

4. And your least favourite?

The clinical and propagandist way that history is generally taught in america really ruined the subject for me.

5. What do you think was the most important life lesson you learned in school?

Don't walk in front of the swings or you'll get kicked in the face.

6. What is your favourite song about/against education?

that's fair; the way it's taught in Holland is biased too if course, but I got lucky because my main history teacher was a cynical old punk and we were pals
