Not necessarily currency. The whole blockchain system is extremely resource intensive, and designed to get worse.

Sounds like you're bullish on crypto.

As it scales and adoption becomes more widespread, more capital will flow into re-engineering it and optimizing it.

Of course, if crypto reaches a wide adoption and scales massively in both infrastructure and support - but the underlying technology never changes - then yes, we'd have an issue. But it's highly unlikely that's how it will play out.
