Psp
With my MP3 broken, I decided to buy a PSP. It's great, its truly an all-in-one portable media player. It plays PSP games (all in 16:9 widescreen to boot), full length UMD videos, supports music and videos, RSS feeds, and has a web browser. You can also hook it up to a TV and watch your UMD in 720p(1080i) resolution.
My only complain is the damn memory stick duo's. The PSP itself has no storage, so it relies solely on solid sate flash memory cards. They are so damned expensive it rediculous. 1GB=$30, 2GB=$50, 4GB=$100+, and I've seen an 8GB but it was over $300. I realize the PSP, while encompassing movies, games, music, and internet is very convenient, but the storage is definitely an issue. The memory sticks dont hold neary enough, and theyre overly expensive. Does anyone know of any portable external hard drive that could be used with my PSP, or a hack that would allow me to install a hard drive on my PSP, or anything along those lines? |

psp is such a ripoff over this past weekend I helped my friend put some movies onto his and he had to buy a special program that they were intially charging 24.95 for but I went surfing the net and I had to install a japanese version of the program that had a UI in english. ....then I realized I still had to pay to upgrade to the pro version but it was only 12.95.....I was like daaaamn I knew there was a reason I didn't buy into that trend....I always thought PSPs sucked...just because they were trying to jump into the handheld market that Nintendo dominates and I'm pretty much a Nintendo fanboy that loves innovation rather than ripping off.

PSP is way better than DS or GBA. Games are so dumbed down on DS and GBA compared to their big brother Wii or GameCube. Playing a PSP games is essentially exactly like playing it on PS2 or PS3 (with a hit on graphics of course).
you don't need to buy the software, it just makes it easier though. there are dozens of free software programs that will convert your videos to MP4 and your songs to WMA or MP3, w/o having to buy PS's Media Manager Pro software. I'd definitely recommend the PSP over a DS or GBA. It has way better graphics, a way faster processor, better games, supports your music and movies, RSS feeds, can be used as a flash drive, and has a web browser. the ONLY legitimate drawback is the price of the memory sticks. |

Exactly the reason I gave my DS to my sister & got a PSP instead.
I bought a DS when they first came out & got so bored of waiting for a game that was either aimed at someone with an IQ higher than a 5 year old or without f*cking Mario in it. I just gave up waiting in the end. Nintendo may be more innovative but as long as they package it with horrible cutesy graphics & characters that past their sell by date in the mid 80s I won't be interested. And that touchscreen thing was totally pointless & annoying.

well I like using the touchscreen and playing Jam Sessions so I'll keep my DS and never buy a psp....I was thinking about getting a psp since I have a ps3 because I think they are working on being able to access your ps3 from your psp in the future...but eh. I just don't want one.....I have my laptop for internet and hi-def movies
