Carrara 3, MS paint. i make the pic in carrara, and slapped my logo on (and converted the image) in paint.

hmm the composition is weird to me, like its not finished or something. The signature on the left side doesn't help either. Interesting...

Ricochet~kun 09-11-2009 02:25 PM

aww i like it. i used four balls, a heck of alot of mirrors, and a red spotlight. =P

+the words thrown in

VeggieLover 09-11-2009 07:55 PM

The words are what throw me off. I'm not saying its bad, just doesn't jive for me. (one of the only times ived used the word jive!!!) If i look past the words I can see a really cool piece with a lot of potential, but with them, it just looks like you kinda got tired of the project and slapped them on there so you could be done. Its a unity thing. just sayin

Ricochet~kun 09-12-2009 03:32 PM

oh god... i need to redo it, but on this fukkin machine it takes horus to render... maybe when i upgrade my pc monday...

dude, thats sweet. I wish I was that talented.

OceanAndSilence 10-13-2009 09:17 AM

it was done digitally, with a pen tablet and a free program called opencanvas. it's cool, you can draw with other people on-line. i used to do a fair bit of figure drawing and realism, i would sketch in school instead of doing my work. after a few years it stopped becoming fun so i stopped taking it seriously. i'm still pretty good but nowhere near as good as i was; now drawing is just a hobby. i'll put some more pictures up soon, maybe with traditional media!

FETCHER. 10-17-2009 09:09 PM

story, its pretty good for a sketchy drawing.
i cant draw face's at all. in the slightest.
and Ocean, thats cool. whats the inspiration, the skull area slightly reminds me of (kill me if you want) star wars. still cool.

yeah , as kay said ... If you can draw that, a bit of practice and some research you can draw much better. And you're still young, so at this age drawing evolves incredibly from year to year.

*I still can't believe how much I sucked last year... true story.

storymilo 10-17-2009 09:15 PM

That's really awesome Ocean

I don't upload much of my drawings, as I sketch daily, and it's usually on my copybooks while taking notes in boring courses.

So here's one of the uploaded (the date under the signature is 15/2/2005):

What helps you the most is checking some painters, get the movements and their evolution. Cause art is not in the aesthetics, and that's something people tend to forget.

storymilo 10-17-2009 09:31 PM

That's really cool

I'm not really looking into visual arts as a serious thing or anything but it's definitely something that would be fun

haha, it started out as a normal woman! then i just kind of let my imagination run a little. i wish i could draw abstract, but it doesn't feel right when i try to :(

You just have to search for some abstract artists to get your imagination flowing. Tho I'm also like you, I hate it when I find my self drawing in a style that I truly dislike.

OceanAndSilence 10-17-2009 09:36 PM

when i paint i find it actually really easy to make abstract art. with everything else it just downt wanna wowk. right now i don't have any paint/canvas though.... and since i'm already on the pc and i have my pen tablet... ;)

NumberNineDream 10-17-2009 09:45 PM

I got a pen tablet last week (bday gift :D) still haven't tried it yet. What application do you usually use, cause I still don't have any good ones.

FETCHER. 10-17-2009 10:16 PM

i love the last 2 darkest hour, and #9 your drawings somewhat abstract which i like. really like. story serious, compared to the real album cover thats well good! i would take art as a subject if i was you, you really have potential. i used to be reall **** at art, now i have a B in higher art. be proud of me :D haha.

there's a few you can use. a really common and simple one is opencanvas.

this is the last version that had online support, which means you can connect with other people and draw with them in real time. so you could complete other peoples drawings or do a picture together. you can also save your own and download other people's "event files" - it basically shows you the process the artist made from beginning to end. really cool.

the later versions are more professional and they aren't free. if you want to get serious about digital art, you can get photoshop CS4. pretty much industry standard, most of the professional art you see these days is created with photoshop. it is highly expensive though, however you can get it other *cough* ways

NumberNineDream 10-17-2009 11:14 PM

I already have photoshop (from the other ways) ... as all the other application I have lol. I'm gonna check Open Canvas, seems really good. Maybe I'll get back with some of my own digital art.

I like that a lot, reminds me a lot of some art that a guy I know Russ does. He's an artist/tattoo artist.

Well creating aesthetically pleasing visuals in itself is an art form.

Art shouldn't have for a goal to be aesthetically pleasing. When you think aesthetics, you think Artisanal.
