Nice work, man!

That's some pretty skilled illustration, certainly worthy of an art academy. It would be cool to see that image animated in a sequence- it feels like a still shot. I guess some artists create more from observation than pure imagination. The most astonishingly amazing results, I find, tend to come from artists who can do both.

Do you find it easier to be original if you are given a concept to work with? Or do you draw most of your inspiration from images that capture your attention? Either way, I really like what you accomplished with that drawing :)

Thank you very much! Come to think of it, it was easier for me to be original when I was still in high school and my art teacher gave me concepts to work with. But nowadays it's as you said: I get inspiration from images that capture my attention. Though sometimes I have an image in my head but I can't get it out, so I need a reference picture to work with. Often I'm inspired by lyrics of some songs. For example, this soldier picture was inspired by a part of Editor's song: "Darling, just don't put down your guns yet. If there really was a God here he'd have raised a hand by now."

Anyway, besides drawing I also make little videos (mostly stop motion) and with them I find it much more easier to be original with. So, I guess my problem with drawing is that I can really only draw what I see with my eyes.

Thanks Phanastasio, I am delighted you like it! Yeah you hit the nail on the head there, thats more or less what I am trying to portray from a dream I had.

I like your style, Pedestrian, though it's very different from the art I make. Do you do this for living? Graphic designing or something? Or are you an art student? Or just for fun? Also, how do you do these? I've never done pictures with computer, so I don't know the process. Enough questions? Let's see...hmm...yup, I think enough for now :D

Thank you! Truth be told, it's very different from the art I made up until now too; mine was more in the vein of what you posted (charcoal and graphite portraits). Creatures, concepts, and colour are all the opposite of what I thought my strong suits were, so this is a lot of fun for me right now.

I'm just doing this for pleasure at the moment. I'm untrained and unpaid, and this is just one of my little creative outlets. It would be amusing to see it take off into something more though!

What I do is I draw up the original idea, ink it, scan it, then I use ghetto-photoshop to add the colour in.

Bare in mind I never studied art, I only took it up 2 years ago as a hobby, I have not really ever painted people before, I thought I should start with myself last night. I wasn't very sobre doing this.

I wasn't drunk(;p), but thank you! ^^

I am not too happy with this one but my mother loves it. She put it up in the kitchen.

You said you weren't sobre, so I just assumed drunkenness. Well then, even stoned you're better than I am.
