I can't believe the inspiration for these are pixelated webcam shots! Incredible!

Nah, the two I've done here were worked from real shots I took of my friends while we were dicking about in the last two years.

This doesn't alter the fact that they are extremely impressive. How long do they take you to finish?

Eh, about an hour and a half to two hours, depending on how distracted I become and how much detail there is in the piece.

Been thinking about doing it with musicians and celebrity icons as well, but I don't have as good a sense of the person.

I find I'm not very skilled in A) colour and B) paint. Granted, I don't practice either much because I don't find them enjoyable (I become quickly frustrated and abandon whatever I've begun). I've done two colour pieces yet that I think were worth the time it took to create them.

That's a shame. Definitely worth it in my opinion.
When I get the time, I think I might try and use some oil on canvas or something to try and capture the mood at a live performance. The idea seems to appeal to me.

Well you seem to be good at monochrome painting. Maybe experiment with that until you are more comfortable with many colours. Worst comes to worst you get even better at what you are good at now.

Ody, one collection I do have is a gigantic pile of awful drawings from since I was eight.

Sure, if you're in the mood for some cheap amusement.
