Thanks for the welcome Lisnaholic.
No it’s not near Bristol, it’s a sketch of the harbour in Padstow Cornwall :)

Plankton 09-16-2021 05:47 AM

Really good work Chillie6.

Chillie6 09-16-2021 07:11 AM

Thanks Plankton.

Minted 12 of my first NFT for sale. 0.05 ETH

Nice! So that’s about $150?

rostasi 09-19-2021 08:40 PM

So, I’ve often wondered about the next step…
Is it easy to cash in after something like that?
Or do you somehow reinvest it?

rostasi 09-20-2021 08:39 AM

By “selling it”, you mean to cash it in somehow?
I’ve wondered about this. These people that sell
something in Ethereum and it’s translated to dollars
when they announce the sale … how do they get from
Ethereum to dollars? Where does the transaction take place?
Ethereum doesn’t pay the mortgage.

The Batlord 09-20-2021 08:58 AM

You use ethereum to buy war bonds that finance the war on Jay Z.

A large ledger of all transactions updated every 10 mins, to comfirm every miner has the same thing. Cant hide anything on blockchain, thats why if you scroll down on my drawing page you'll see every transaction I had with them.

All exchanges have wallets, for the crypto of choice, so when it's time to change ethereum to dollars or bitcoin to dollars, it's just built into the wallet and is just every platform I've used has been easy to cash out or invest more.

OK. good to know. Will have to do some research on that.
When Mr. Spacely gives me my check in Ethereum, I'll have to be able to,
here on Earth, have a way to put that down-payment on daughter Judy's
new groovy SpacePad as well as put Elroy thru space-school!
Space Bank One isn't taking anything but $$$ these days.

Art Linkletter

Plankton 09-21-2021 07:03 PM

The man knows his game show hosts.

rostasi 09-21-2021 08:00 PM

Smeenus says the darndest things…

Linkletter’s album on the evils of drugs is a whole lotta psychofun!
Around the turn of the 70s, he was convinced that his daughter
died from taking LSD, and went on a crusade for the rest of his life.

Plankton 09-22-2021 07:25 AM

Well, there's some new info for my cerebrum.

I did not know that.

Tristan_Geoff 09-22-2021 07:30 AM

my favorite gameshow host was Bob Saget

Plankton 09-22-2021 07:32 AM

I've always been kinda partial to Chuck Barris.

Yeah, it was pretty newsworthy in those days because of her father's clean image and all that. His daughter was depressed and climbed out the kitchen window while a friend was there and fell to her death. Linkletter went on a tirade against LSD saying that she was on it and thought she could fly when it was proven that she had no drugs in her system. Linkletter changed his story saying that she had a flashback moment and that caused her to jump. The stories kept getting weirder and more desperate with tales of her taking heroin at 13 and other nonsense. It went on to the point when he was made fun of mercilessly - especially after releasing over-the-top books and at least one LP.

The pain of losing a loved one, especially a child, can make a person quite delusional and grasping for conclusions.

For years I thought the Bob Barker prison clothes story was a thing, but thanks to the internet I now know better.

DianneW 09-22-2021 10:06 AM

I meet this person once in Hastings... and she had some Mental Issues. She had tried to fly out of a window twice in her young life. She was not on any drugs, just would act like it..
She had broken bones and a stretch in care..A real bad Mood disorder to have to live with that....
She said she remembers it happening, but cant do anything to stop it.

Plankton 09-22-2021 10:52 AM

Gotta get those chemicals balanced I guess.

I knew about the LSD story (It was the hippie era of course). I didn't know the young woman's death had nothing to do with LSD in the end. It is true Linkletter got a lot of ridicule over his reactions though. Anyway, you learn something new every day.
