Po. Nice.
(And welcome back.) |
I used to do Drag Race art. Had several Limited Edition prints that sold all over the world. Found out the hard way, there isn't any money in it. :(
I'll post some up once I get 15 posts. |

Great stuff all!

I've tried to do cartoon style drawings but I'm too mechanical. by the time I'm done, they look just like the cars. :)
A couple drawings I did for customers. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...bubbledraw.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n.../jasonbike.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...4vickydraw.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...x/IMG_0691.jpg http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n.../mopardraw.jpg |

I thought IT WAS a photograph.
You can even see the reflection of the biker ahead in the guy's helmet |
the reflection does not look right, yeh? or is that just me?
|
Why am I skeptical that those were actually drawn? Or am I being too cynical?

Your attention to detail is astounding.
|
What else goes into it? It's not just colored pencil I'm guessing. Looks like computer work.
|
It is 100% Berol Prismacolor colored pencils. I work from my own photographs. I draw it out completely down to the finest detail with a mechanical pencil. I do this because unlike painters, I don't use color blobs to simulate fine details. If there is a small decal or writing, I actually put them in there. Reflections are actually colored right onto the board (Cresent 300), not overlaid. Overlay is used for blending. It takes me 50 to 75 hours to complete, start to finish, the more complicated drawings.
I have actually started drawing again off and on. Just trying to finish up some older unfinished projects (Like an old P-51 Mustang air race plane) and starting on some that I have wanted to do. Like this photograph of mine. http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...pscdvktaqv.jpg |
The time you put into it certainly shows. Like Plank said, your detail is crazy good. When you first posted in here I thought you were just reposting the stuff from the photography thread.
|
I actually started photographing because of my art. Now I photograph for a couple publications and haven't draw, until recently, for years.

Spoiler for large inage:

Hey Crukster, you've got a cool style of drawing, but do yourself a favor and have someone else do the writing for you. Because no matter how "intellectual" and "counter culture" you think you're being, pretty colors mixed with crap dialogue is basically Transformers, the most soulless and mainstream thing known to man. You might have hundreds of beautiful messages that you want to get across to people, but they aren't worth a damn if you can't convey them properly.
