Hi, PoorOldPo! This is one of your best yet, imo. It`s not as busy as some of your others, but it has some intriguing textures. The splotchy mauves are fabulous, and I like the ambiguity of the image; is the face a piece of stone caught in a net or some mercury spilt on a kitchen floor? Either way, it`s a picture I would genuinely love to have hanging in my house. Ten out of ten!

Thanks man! I really like the mercury spilt on the floor idea! Never would have thought of that!

Po, your work is amazing man. What medium do you use?

Thanks! I use acrylic paint and tipp ex and olive oil and water. And sometimes I use ink, pens markers, pencils, canvases and paper and stuff like that as well. I usually do big pieces as well, like A1, A2 or A0 paper and canvas.

Kartoffelbrei 03-08-2014 09:38 AM

As I was informed, I shouldn't just post my art on my introduction page :P

This is my deviantart:
Im-Farbenrausch (Im Farbenrausch) on deviantART

I haven't used it for a long time, so all my new artwork is not on here.
I love CG art and also photographing :)

http://th01.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/...ch-d654hgf.png

Also, I am insanely in love with acrylic paint - sadly, I do not have any examples of canvases, cuz most of them hang in appartments of friends :/

Musiclover420 03-17-2014 10:54 PM

There is some great art in this thread, keep up the good work everyone!

A few of my Tyranids (Warhammer 40k). 3 down.... 50 more to go.... haven't painted a single damn model in about a year.

Sorry I never got back to you! No its Little Rock, though the gloominess and Dubliners-esque despair are similar, only the clouds lift eventually. Despair doesn't. : (

That's a really good one there too, is it charcoal? Pencil? I like that texture nonetheless, very gritty, also very cool concept overall.

Surell 03-31-2014 10:02 PM

Btw Po, yeah that last piece is fantastic, the waviness is really striking, along with the contrast. Overall, totally fuckin rad, A++

How big was that and how much do you charge? I ask as a fellow artist who hasn't actually ventured into selling yet, getting a booth at a festival this summer though.

Nah man, I don't know the right people :P I think that is usually how it works.

GuD 04-24-2014 09:09 PM

Yeah, generally if you don't want to have to pay for the space or have a huge chunk taken as commission it pays (literally) to know some people. IDK what's it's like wherever you are but there's plenty of odd-ball places in the bay area that host art shows and will hang your work up. Indie cafes, salons, thrift stores, etc. Maybe you don't wanna sell, but if you did I'd look around at places like that.

I am in Ireland, There is a art scene here but I dunno if people get this art as much as they would in America or other parts of mainland Europe, or at least that is what I have been told lol. I have an uncle out in Frisco, he moved when he was like 20 or something, he loves it there.

Carpe Mortem 05-02-2014 01:01 AM

My first attempt at liquid latex wounds. Never used liquid latex before so this is just a big glob I did to see how the **** works.

My plan is to eventually create something like this. This is just the first halfhearted attempt so with just a teensy more practice I think I'll be good to save $300 and make my own damn flesh lamp.

Just a hobby. **** I wish I could get paid to do art stuff haha. Thanks man.

It's actually super easy to use, if you're ever interested in dabbling. That literally took almost no effort, aside from the painting. Got a 9 oz bottle for about 20 american bucks and that barely made a dent in it.
