In progress self portrait, tentively titled "The Drowned God's Wife"
It's really a pain in the ass to paint in Photoshop.

Actually part of a series that I'm naming "Seven Deaths for Seven Veils" (In honour of Beric Dondarrion and my stage name, Salome)

The other is in progress that I didn't post.

CrazyVegn 05-26-2013 04:13 PM

^That looks like real oil paint and not a computer!
Hm. . . I am STILL out of paper, until hopefully tomorrow. What I wanted to do next is an orange tree. A few Summers ago I did fruit and now I'm on that kick again.

Beautiful Vegn! Lovely colours! Reds and Greens, I am colourblind though, so that may not be what colours are actually there.

Excellent work, Vegn! I agree with all of the above comments, especially the colors. The shadows are very impressive.

By the way, Po, I didn't know you were colorblind! Makes me that much more impressed with your art.

CrazyVegn 06-12-2013 01:57 PM

^Well TY, Blarobbarg... Up next is a more complex one of a swimming pool court... You seem artistic, what do you do?
As for Po, Beethoven was deaf and made great work.
I think I'm a bit color blind between purple and blue. Either me or my mom is. IDK which one of us it is.

I write, mostly. Not really anything in particular, though I like to write essays about various topics, and freeform thought pieces about whatever crap is going around my head... I also dabble in poetry, though I have more of an appreciation for the art than any understanding of it or skill with it.

I used to be very big into visual art and worked a lot with pencils and pens... I did a lot of abstract stuff and conceptual biology, including quite a bit of concept art for various alien worlds I was working on.

On top of all that, back in high school, I collaborated on two very long-running stories involving superheros, and I also worked with several other artists/wanna-be scientists creating an alien planet from scratch, starting from the cells and evolving from there. It's called Sagan 4, not sure if it's still around or not.

I just did a few silly things taking children's art that was left behind at a camp I was working at and turning it into color-explosion psychedelic pictures... I might upload those later.

Frownland 06-25-2013 12:20 PM

I went to the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla for my birthday, and it was pretty interesting. The pieces there were strange, quite a few were like ordinary household items. So I devised a plan to place my blue pen leaning off of a ledge in the art section to trick people into thinking that it's one of the Museum's pieces.

Since anyone under 25 gets in for free, I returned after work on Friday and found that my pen had stayed in the same place for a little less than a month. I officially have a piece at the Museum of Contemporary Art! I wish I had taken a photo but my phone was dead :(.

If you had taken a picture and posted the story on Tumblr or something you could have said the entire thing was actually a performance piece, thus confusing everyone further.

The fact that it wasn't on Tumblr is part of the piece :drummer:.
