Where did you buy the paint in your post of two pictures painted with thick paint? It looks like what I've been looking for.

Its acrylic paint. I think the brand is called Winsor or something, Windsor and Newton. :)

I LOVE acrylics. May buy some when I have some dolla and some decent paper/canvas.

Never did art in school so I never learned about these dudes. Picasso is hard to miss though. I heard a lot about him growing up.

Maybe it's an "unconscious influence". You probably saw their works (or some similar works by other painters) somewhere, but you didn't know who the authors were. Many artists have been under that kind of non-explicit influences: musicians, painters, sculptors, architects, etc. I mean, their works are inspired by a certain style (for instance, Cubism) though sometimes they were not aware of who were the pioneers of such style.
