I am glad you like it! I never know whether people will like them or not when I am doing them. I just get the images out of my head when I draw them.

Trying something a bit different from my usual fare, mostly for shits and giggles.

Frownland 04-09-2012 09:56 AM

Whoa, that's pretty cool there, Pedestrian. He looks like a frazzled alcohorse, very nice.

FETCHER. 04-09-2012 10:17 AM

Haha that reminds me of the E4 advert of the animated guy with a horse head. I love that advert.

Paedantic Basterd 04-09-2012 11:27 AM

There are four more to do in the set, which I hope will be equally, if not more disturbing.

Sardonic and surreal! I love the colors -- is this a watercolor?

Paedantic Basterd 04-19-2012 11:18 AM

Indeed it is. It's not so saturated in regular light though. The scanner bleaches everything, and then I used photoshop to compensate for that, and as a result it's a bit off.

ribbons 04-19-2012 11:28 AM

I actually think the bleached effect conveys more of the sense of the horse being blottoed. :)
Great work Pedestrian, looking forward to seeing more from you.

Ah, thanks. It's meant to be childish and mildly disturbing at the same time. I just hope people don't see it and literally think a child has created it, because what I've done doesn't show that I have much skill at all.

ribbons 04-19-2012 11:36 AM

I beg to differ. A lot of skill was required to create that. The drawing itself is very skillful, your sense of proportion is excellent.

(And no one will think a child created this, that's for sure. ;))

This is probably the best piece of art I've ever achieved and it's alright. I'd hate to imagine how bad my painting is now but paint and shit is so damn expensive.

I was thinking that, I hadn't seen that last time I was in but they're good! They remind me of a book we used to read in primary school, about a guy called Chip or something and he had a dog.

@Po, cheers :D I'd absolutely love to get back into painting but it's a near impossibility to do anything in my house that requires concentration. I wonder if I would be any good after smoking. Hmm... I may buy paint to test the theory

likuidcoka 05-08-2012 08:58 PM

I painted a mural in my workplace bathroom. Its agriculture related. Ill post pics later.

Key 05-08-2012 11:33 PM

Worked in Gimp on this. Took a black and white photo of Elliott Smith and turned it into a color photo.

That is just wonderful. I love the colors, as with all of your work.

I really need to get back to artwork. I used to draw every day, but stopped... stupid me. Now my chicken scratches barely count as doodles. :(

Thanks so much Blarobbarg! I am flad you like it and its' colours. Sometimes my paintings seem quite dark but they are not intended that way.

Dark is not a bad thing. And most of the time they don't seem dark per se, just abstract, which I always appreciate. They really resonate with me because of my own preference in art, which is almost always for the nonsensical, weird, or crazy looking. I enjoy works that take something concrete, like a person or animal, and then twist it into something that no longer makes sense.

We have a lot in common then! Its always nice to meet someone of the same artistic realm. :)

What's materials do you all prefer to use? I've always been a massive fan of thick acrylics and large paint brushes or anything that's thick, I like to get in about it. :)

Salami 06-06-2012 10:00 AM

I draw these all over my school diary, but since it technically counts as art I'll put it in here:

Well! <3

I usually use acrylics, sometimes cod liver oil, somtimes sugar, someitmes salt. I use paint brushes of varying thicnesses { not too fussy haha } I love acrylics for now but tryin to moce onto oils.

FETCHER. 06-10-2012 05:40 PM

I don't think Ive ever painted with oils before. But I imagine it's lovely to use. Currently boring myself to death with pencils.
