That is some undertaking for your first one but it looks like a good job indeed. That sort of tattoo is usually done in a couple of stages over a couple of day sessions but kudos to you. A little tip. It seems trite but chewing on gum helps or thinking about the phone bill distracts you lol.

But I will try purchasing some hubba-bubba before another lengthy tattoo, and will take a few swigs of some ****ty Quebecois wine to shorten the process. |

As for the pain of tattoos... they don't even hurt that badly at all! :/ I've got one right on my spine and yes, it is painful to get a tattoo, but yes it is also completely bearable pain. Compared to all the needles and spinal taps and stuff I had when I was in hospital, tattoo pain is like 2/10. The only thing I'd recommend if you're getting a tattoo is to drink lots of water and keep your blood sugar up - a lot of people faint because they have to sit still in the one position for a long time. |

I was telling the artist that this being my first tattoo has definitely set the standards high for any future tattoo considerations. I don't know if this is considered 'rude', but she is probably one of the best portrait / realism artists in Montreal, and I am going to link her public profile here for anyone that is interested in some of her other work! The dilemma of waiting until I'm more physically fit to get a tattoo always arises when I think about getting one. I once heard that once choosing a tattoo design, you should wait three months to see if you still like the idea, save for it being an in-the-moment sort of thing. Well I was thinking of getting the phrase "Black Eyed Dog" tattooed on me somewhere. It's a Nick Drake song which speaks to who I am so simply a beautifully, and I've had this idea for a couple years now, so it's not exactly a dieing idea.
Perhaps at the end of this summer, coupled with a relevant graphic. Ah, the options.

I lost the mother ****ing drawing I spent probably a good 12 hours making perfect. And I was going to go get my tattoo memorial day weekend. Now I'm not sure if I'll be able to draw it as good again...

I Need Help Forum
I am going to get my first tattoo in a few weeks, and music is a huge part of my life. So of course it will have a music feel to it. Im looking to take notes from a song that really speaks to me and fits me to put into the tattoo.
I was hoping you guys could post some songs that you find inspirational or tell a good life story. Now before you spam with "You need to pick the song its your tattoo". trust me I know. I am simply trying to get some suggestions to help lead me to the song I really want to use Thanks in advance to anyone that helps, and I will be sure to post a picture of the tattoo when its all done. |
