I'm supposed to be getting a tattoo before I go back, but I want something that means a lot to me.
I was thinking of a quotation, but I'm not one for ONLY words.
Any ideas?

i don't hae any tattoos, but if you ask me unless you know exactly what you want and are certain, you shouldn't get one. getting one for the sake of getting one and then deciding what you want seems foolish to me.

I have to agree here. You have to be 100% about a tattoo. I know many people who regret their tat's only just a few years later. Saying that I am desperate for a couple more.

Jackhammer and CC,

That wasn't exactly my goal, actually.
I didn't explain myself as well as I should have.
When I first wanted a tattoo, it was for a band that helped my out of my depression.
I changed my mind on that after a few years.
Next, it was the music sign with the treble and bass.

I want something with music. Music has madea big impact on my life.
It helped me through suicidal issues when I was younger.
And it helps me get through the problems I have today.

^_^ I did fail to mention I wanted a tattoo symbolizing music.
I did fail to mention how important this is to me.
The only rush is that I don't come back home for a while, and I want to get it before I leave.
I know what the tattoo is for.
It's literally the picture that I'm having trouble with.

Music based tattoos are both good and bad, if you fall out of love with the band then it will be a very unwanted tatoo but I also think that a logo or emblem that idenifies a band can look really cool.

I have this logo on the back of my neck between the shoulder blades:

Just the logo and none of the colours and plan on having this at the top of my shoulder:

Not too obvious but I doubt whether I could change my love for these bands by now.

I mean for music in general.
I'd already turned down the idea of a certain band because my music taste has drastically changed in the past few months.
I don't know when it'll change next.

Why not go for something simple, like :

"It was the songs that saved my life"

These are lyrics btw... by... Kill Hannah =/ lol

I like Kill Hannah, don't be ashamed. ;]

There's always "without music life would be a mistake"

but if I were to get about music I'd get "But don't forget the songs that made you cry, and the songs that saved your life, yes you're older now, and you're a clever swine, but they were the only ones who ever stood by you"

even though it's super long and I don't know your feelings on the Smiths
