because everything that the people of the church stood for was a lie, and thus it made the church a more moral place. And on top of that, without those religious wars i honestly doubt that the present day religious tolerance would be at the level it's at. i mean...its not ANYWHERE near where it should be....but its a lot better than one religion controling everything. Basically the Reformation led to the church having less control over everything as some people found they prefered other teachings to the original one.
