What the hell is that supposed to mean?

but in all seriousness, most people who posted in this thread are generally of the same mind and people who aren't (Blain) have already stated that they don't have enough conviction to defend their beliefs to those that claim such superstition is both counterproductive and detrimental to society as a whole (more of less).

I would be interested in hearing arguements for Christianity (or any other monotheistic religion) however. And none of this "it's a personal thing man. you just don't understand" nonsense. You know what else is a personal thing that no one else will get? An acid trip, dementia, multiple personalities, etc. etc.

Lol he didn't say anything like that and I think that kind of crap is just the thing he was referring to when you say "you should respect mine."

I don't get the difference. If you're going to say, "Hey I'm a Christian. I don't want to talk about it, but I respect you so you have to respect me!" then I'm going to call you out on it.

Either a) don't post or b) post and be prepared to defend what you say. Easy as that.

He posted his point of view that's all the thread asked. With the amount of crap christians tend to get on the internet I can hardly blame him for not wanting to discuss it.

Blain 01-19-2008 03:51 PM

Thanks Ethan. I don't really see why I have to defend myself for that, if I say anything to even defend my beliefs they're just gunna get shot down by Mikey or someone else anyway.

I agree with you Ian, these threads are fairly pointless, but if posting my point of view is gunna get a discussion on a roll, I may as well do it. I simply said respect my beliefs so I don't get singled out as some narrow minded Christian who's heads so far up their ass that they start to shoot down other peoples beliefs.

I'm not gonna bother arguing, because it's a sure fact that I'm gunna "lose" so, I may as well walk away:pimp:

/walks out with style.

I assume you meant fiction.
There is a lot of evidence that has cropped up, that Jesus never even existed.
Of course when James Cameron 'discovered his grave' a few years back, there were a ton of people who already knew it was a joke, and how it would turn out. And how did it turn out? He was wrong.
In my opinion, they will never find Jesus's grave, or anyone will ever be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he existed. In fact, it's much more likely in my lifetime they will disprove his existence rather than prove it.
With all that said, I still don't think believing in him is that bad of a thing. It's kind of like a little kid believing in Santa Claus. They're just not smart enough yet to know any better, but you don't go up to Little Timmy, and say, "There is no Santa Claus"
I'll just say I believe in a God, but not JC. However to all Christians please stop perverting your religion. I heard this lady on the radio the other day saying that 'Hindus believe in nothing' and this is a woman who knows so much that apparently her opinion should be heard on the radio. Why are christians constantly going around perverting these ideas of homophobia and xenophobia. What does that have to do with Jesus?

They base their lives around the belief that a cosmic Jewish zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree. They're probably going to get a good amount of crap on the internet.
ROFLMFAO!!! Wow that was great.... and so true.
