woah, wonderful batman costume but since when do people dress up for new years? is it the new replacement halloween or what?

Since the invention of fancy dress parties I would imagine.

And besides , nobody gives a sh*t about halloween in the UK.

Which is strange as it dates back to Samhain from Scotland and Ireland.

Ahh but we had Bonfire Night.
Not as popular now, as it was way back when though. :(
