I think the thread is a small big of a generalisation and unfair...
I know plenty of people who fit into this chav trend and are extremely nice people. It just seems that the kids who commit crime nowadays are chavs as well... Pavee's is the big thing over here in Ireland. Living makeshift homes or scrounging council homes, not working, thieving, generally causing trouble at every opportunity. They'll attack anyone. It's a pain being into not so mainstream music and style, because often you get abuse for looking different, I'm a goth apparently :p |

I'm not going to entirely dismiss a mass of people, me and the misses (before she was pregnant) used to bong with a group of chavs who were quite entertaining to be around. Nice enough people.

Some "goth" tried to beat me up a couple of weeks ago walking through town. We had make-up, dreads and a black hoodie on but in my eyes, he's a chav/scalley/whatever. In contrast, I went to a very "chavvy" school full of working class kids in tracksuits who smoked and dabbled in petty crime but they were nice enough, just very frustrated with the world around them. They grew out of it. |
Haha you're Spartacus from Maybesheforgot aren't you?

*sigh* every generations youth is supposedly the worst ever. It was the same with the Skins, the Mods, the Punks & the Hoods.
The 'Chav' has developed. It finally stopped wallowing in American Hip Hop and R&B and now has it's own culture. Positive points of the chav culture include Skream, Geeneous, Wiley, Rinse FM, Kidulthood, Dubstep to name just a few. |
We pretty much call them lads now where I live.
|
I'm lucky, where I live in the US we have a decent mix of people, but it's very "cliquey" .
|
So it's like a wigger, but instead of acting black they act Italian? Hm.
