Hatton V. Mayweather

Local lad Hatton takes on Mayweather tonight in what looks set to be a tremendous contest.
Estimates of between 13,000 and 20,000 partizan Mancunians have made the trip to Las Vegas for tonights fight.
Hope the bars have stocked up!
6,000 turned up for the weigh in alone.

Win or lose...this is gonna be some fight.

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-08-2007 08:22 AM

Hatton is the only fighter i'll pay money to watch. Whether I can be bothered to stay up till 4am to see it is a different matter. If I find myself still awake at 3am i'll order it

Prediction : Hatton will floor him :D

adidasss 12-08-2007 08:58 AM

Order it? Huh?

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-08-2007 09:03 AM

It's on Pay Per Veiw

jackhammer 12-08-2007 09:19 AM

PPV is a horrible word lol. I wonder whether I can find this on the net somewhere. I really want to see this one. A typically brash American being the big I am, and Hatton being utterly English looking on bemused! I hope Hatton wins, but Mayweather is a great fighter

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-08-2007 09:24 AM

I managed to find his last fight online, Good quality too.

How does one do that...and in the world of torrents, why?

Laces Out Dan! 12-08-2007 01:05 PM

Mayweather is gonna kill him...he's faught a lot harder opponents and he's undefeated in over 30 fights. Nothing against Hatton though...he looks like a tough dude.

jackhammer 12-08-2007 01:13 PM

Hatton is undefeated in 43-something's got to give.

Hatton himself has said he has only gotten the chance to fight the has-beens.

But in more important discussion...tonight UFC, Roger Huerta vs Clay Guida...my money is on the Matador.

pheurton 12-08-2007 01:43 PM

I'm English, though I want mayweather to win.

And why exactly would this be?

I don't know why, I feel sorry for the black guy.

Urban Hat€monger ? 12-08-2007 03:17 PM

Amir Khan just won in 72 seconds.

Glad I didn't pay £15 to see that one.

Shame Khan won...he's a cocky twat.
Good left hook though.

jackhammer 12-08-2007 03:25 PM

I have to work tomorrow. it should be my weekend off but I have to cover ,so this is making watching the fight that little more difficult.

I know what you mean. I don't dislike him but I'd like to see him face someone who's really going to test him and maybe bring him down a peg or two.

I'm watching it, but I have to be up early for my niece's christening tomorrow morning.
So it's beer, beer and more beer for the next 24 hours, then work on Monday. :(

I'd give my right arm to be in Las Vegas tonight.
They only allocated Hatton approx 4,000 tickets.
The other estimated 10-15,000 have gone for the craic.
The atmosphere in the bars will be electric.

His attitude has changed from the humble young amateur boxer of a few years ago, to steadily becoming another Naseem.
Shame cos he seems like a nice enough guy and I can't help but feel he's trying to play the part a bit too much.

Can little Ricky Hatton be lord of the ring? - Times Online

He's a real down to earth man, with a genuine personality.
The article will give you a better understanding of him and his background.

right-track 12-09-2007 02:48 AM

Hatton stopped in the 10th.

Can someone stop me making these threads...I'm a fuckin' jinx. :(

jackhammer 12-09-2007 11:02 AM

Was supposed to be a belting little fight though. Fúckin' jinx lol.

Friday 12-11-2007 10:31 AM

It was sad to see but Hatton was outclassed really. Though, I thought he may get the victory in the early rounds, just on pure agression.
