Yeah, it'd be especially hard because the effects of withdrawing are ****ing horrendous, especially as they get physical and mental effects. I've got four friends that have kicked it. It effects people from all walks of life. One of my friends was an addict when he went to Stanford. He graduated with a law degree while under the effects of heroin. He later kicked it. I wouldn;t look down on anyone with any addiction as that would be rather hypocritical of me.
