Believe me, that's how I used to do it back in the day. Cowfields were literally our stomping grounds.
To be honest, the first time I ever ate shrooms that didn't come straight from the field was when I was in Amsterdam in '07/08ish. That's the first time I ever ate homegrowns, too.
Now days you'd be hard pressed to find shrooms in a field, even in Louisiana. And anyone homegrowing around here seem to prefer drying and crushing. Extends the life of the product for sure. No difference in potency that I've noticed, although it's a lot easier to take more than you would have otherwise.
