Congrats Illinois.

Illinois’s marijuana legalization law will allow recreational possession and sales starting on January 1, 2020, creating a new system of taxes and regulations. Adults 21 and older will be allowed to possess and buy cannabis, although tourists in Illinois will be allowed to buy less than state residents. Cities and counties may prohibit sales, but not possession, within their borders. Personal growing will only be fully legal for medical use. Previous low-level convictions and arrests for marijuana will be pardoned and expunged.

A friend gave me about an ounce of trim from his garden so I made some hash out of it. Did it with 24 hours of freezing iso and the herb, then did the iso/herb soak for about 25 seconds in an icebath before doing a 3 sieve, two filter strain. The result after drying was a little less than one gram of golden white shatter that's strong as ****. Hardcore wiry high like smoking the strongest sativa ever. Only thing I did differently was the icebath so I was more or less expecting the usual.

Once I learned how to make butane extracts I didn't go back. You lose all the flavor and it's easy to add chlorophyll with alcohol pulls.

Lately I just vape indoor trim/popcorn though. Much simpler process, results very similar. I never got a vac so purging took forever with light heat / evaporation.

Here's me old tek for winterized bho:

Pack turkey baster with product

Fill pint-sized mason jar 1/3 full with everclear (sometimes I heated the everclear a bit with warm water)

Run 2 cans of butane through baster into jar (out ****ing side)

Once solution seems to be inactive, put lid on, place in freezer. You don't want an exploded jar of alcohol weed solution in your freezer. The butane purges out very fast, ten minutes is usually good/overkill.

Leave it in freezer for an hour at least

Strain resulting solution through coffee filter. This will remove lipids I believe: a bunch of crap that doesnt really get vaped properly / can burn while dabbing

Purge strained solution on nonstick mat, with egg heater under it. Beware of dust.

Results were pristine.

I grew some Sour Diesel last year. Definitely has a recognizable smell to it. A cannabis connoisseur friend of mine gave it a rave review. Might grow some next year, as well.

I'm beginning to start picking out my weed by which smells the gnarliest. Granola Funk smells like a damp old cheese fart but it smokes so nice.
