My dogs seemed cool with it the few times I was hallucinating near them.

I believe there are exceptions, but in 20 years of tripping around my own pets and others pets, dogs ordinarily get a little freaked out, uneasy and unsure, around people tripping. Whereas cats seem to love it.
I've seen normally-exuberant dogs looking very insecure, and the shyest of cats jumping on peoples laps full of confidence, playfulness and purrs. Wouldn't be surprised if animals detect the shift in brain frequency when a person is tripping. |

It doesn't need to be scientific. It needs to be experienced.
I had a cat, Oscar, an adopted stray who was very shy in nature. He kept a low profile around strangers. Didn't matter if they were sober, drunk, high on coke, speed, ecstasy, the cat didn't wanna know. But if they were tripping, the cat would be all over them. I had another cat who, if we were tripping, would follow us outside into the garden and run around us in play (never did this unless we were tripping). Cats are attracted to people tripping. I've seen it time and time again. Another curious thing when tripping is how relaxed the body gets. Sometimes I'll do a bit of yoga when I'm tripping, and postures which are ordinarily difficult to maintain are effortless on psychedelics. I might be able to hold a certain position for 20 seconds tops when sober, but can hold that same position when tripping for 4, 5 minutes without any discomfort. Strange things, psychedelics. |

I had no idea cats endorsed psychedelics and only psychedelic drugs.
