I don't really get negative side effects with psychedelics, I think that's why I like them so much. If I do coke, speed, Es, even booze, I always feel sh*tty for a few days afterwards, but with shrooms, acid, mescaline, I feel fantastic the next day, a bit spaced out and unsociable, sure, but full of life and imagination and everything looks more beautiful.
I have read stories of flashbacks (people suddenly reliving part of a trip) which sound quite dangerous, but I've never experienced that or know anyone who has. The worst thing that can happen, as you said, is a bad trip; everybody gets those eventually, and they're truly terrifying, but they end up being the best trips. The calm after the storm is ineffable. |

Aren't flashbacks an LSD thing? I've had a couple and I think it has to do with the way you position your neck. I was studying listening to You Shouldn't Do That by Hawkwind when I got my first one and I warbled and had an out of body experience for a minute. Everything had that bubbly acid look too.

Were you tripping when you had the flashback? That neck position theory sounds like the kind of thing a person would think when they're tripping. A friend of mine, while tripping, had to tilt his head to the left otherwise the floor would go all mosaic and shifty. Haha. |
I was sober during both incidents. I figured it was neck position because both times I was looking downward with my neck at an angle because that was the only similarity between the two.

Interesting. I honestly thought flashbacks were a myth and scare story. I guess not. How long did they last? As you experienced them, were you aware in any way what was going on around you, or were you reliving the past completely?
