Picked these beauties walking in the woods today - the famous fly agaric or amanita muscaria. Eating them can be risky as you never know whether you're in for a normal trip or a death-like coma, whether it lasts the usual 12 hours or several days. Still, will dry them out and take my chances. :) |
Just how many different kinds of hallucinogenic shrooms are there? I always assumed it was just the one.

Are you big on this ****? Before the reclassification I'd indulge once a year or so but haven't bothered since then. Don't fancy being caught in possession of a class A drug if I remove it from the ground. How did you learn to be able to identify them so confidently? There are loads of places where they grow local to me and I've wanted to do it but wouldn't know where to start. Quote:

Yeah, I love 'em. I was shown what they look like as a teenager and have been picking them for over 20 years so I have a lot of experience.
If you're determined to pick them, I recommend familiarising yourself with what they look like using wikipedia or sites like erowid. There are a few mushrooms that look similar to liberty caps but none of them are poisonous so should you eat the wrong ones, the worst that will happen is you'll feel a little sick. If you inspect each mushroom thoroughly though then you're unlikely to misidentify 'em. |
Cheers for that site.
Apart from a bad trip, what negative side effects have you had when they wear off? I never had any, just felt myself slowly coming back to normal and felt a bit warm and talkative. Then smoked a spliff and went bed, this site is saying there are others though, is that just if you overdo it? |
The only thing I've had was a general burnt out feeling. Smoking bud definitely helps the comedown on pretty much every drug in my experience. Bad trips are a myth, there are only trips you're not ready for.

One time I didn't drink and smoked a spliff before eating them instead (weed makes me paranoid and anxious), it all went downhill from there. That was the last time I did them. You probably have a point with them being a myth as the effects were stronger but not particularly disturbing, it was more my own feelings, not so much what I could see and hear. I didn't really feel like I was in control of that one tbh. |
