Doing Acid/LSD back in my mid to late teens was absolutely a mind expanding experience.

I might be wrong, but it seems like this typical hippie spiritual esoteric crap.
Drugs are just some hedonistic fun. Although they can lead you to understand your psyche a little bit better, all this spiritual, mind expanding talk seems pretty ridiculous to me.
If your not going to bother to watch it than idk why you bothered commenting on it. Sounds like you already have an opinion about the topic regardless of the knowledge you may have gained from actually spending an hour watching the documentary.

I might have phrased it wrong. It is mind expanding. Oh boy, and how.
But I dislike all this spiritual, esoteric, religious, vibe-of-the universe explanations people give to their trips. Seems ridiculous.

Sorry, I didn't want to offend anyone who is interested in this kind of interpretation.
I read quite a bit about those things back in the days and it all seemed pretty hollow to me. I'm used to being surrounded by people who generally have a similar opinion about this and forgot, that some people might have a completely different view.

I'm still watching the doc I'm 30 minutes in, and I'm not offended. I just feel like clicking through a documentary isn't a good way to tell how it presents the material.

So far it has had some of the stuff that you hate, but there has also been some good coverage of DMT's history and biological function.

DMT is interesting and I've read quite a bit about it, but I really prefer a more scientific approach, without the esoteric aspects. Those bits would just ruin it for me as a whole. I prefer my documentaries with stuffy brits.

I'm an atheist so I get your point. But if a person is already a little bit spiritual and then they dose on top of that I can understand them coming away from the experience feeling like they they'd been sprinkled with fairy dust from the heavens.

You're right.
It just seems so self-serving.
If there was a god (or any other universal spiritual force), wouldn't he manifest himself in all of his creation equally, instead of through some drug you take and mostly just have fun with...
But I made a vow not to talk about religion on the internet, not even with fellow atheists, so I'll shut up now.
