You really don't want to be using olive oil, because it has a lower smoke point than other commercially available oils and will give off a burnt taste. Canna oil definitely tastes like weed if made properly; olive oil will also distort the taste of the oil because it is stronger flavored than say canola or vegetable oil (my preferred fat is butter, but peanut oil is a close second). Secondly, never ever ever ever boil the oil... you are effectively wasting cannabinoids by burning the medium/inadvertently vaporizing them and ruining the efficacy of the preparation. Simmer the plant material for roughly 4 to 5 hours over a low flame, strain, refrigerate and separate the good from the bad. Don't use water. If you're just using stems and leaves you're going to need a lot of material, and make sure it's sugar leaf and not random fan leaves. Fan leaves contain no THC, and stems contain such small amounts that it is stupid to use them for anything but tea. Hope this helps.
