Raust was suggesting using something rich in vitamin C to potentiate the trip, rather than an SSRI, as the potentiation of his shroom trip seemed to be the direction that the thread took. Quite relavent, regardless of reading ability.

I've always heard this Vitamin C crap, tried it many times, and it made absolutely no difference. I've still yet to find absolutely any tests or evidence that it's anything more than an urban legend, just like the crap people actually believe about LSD staying in your spine...

If someone has anxiety problems to start out with, it would behove us to think that a psychedelic trip is the last thing that they need. But it's not our place to tell others what to do though, only give advice when it is asked for.

As far as the effect of vitamin C in relation to your perceived experience, I think it would be too negligible to be remarked on. I know anecdotal evidence can't prove anything, and that's especially the case with this kind of thing, but (on a mostly empty stomach, as always) I've pre-loaded high doses of C, and in other scenarios, dosed during the trip, and I've never noticed any difference other than the variable nature of the trips themselves... as it's very hard, if not impossible without scientific testing, to determine exactly how much of the psychoactive you're actually ingesting. Not to mention all the other variables that come into play regarding the state of your body at the time of ingestion. All I'm saying is even if it can be tested and proven that C potentiates a trip, I don't think a person could objectively differentiate between its effects and the variable nature of the drug itself. So ultimately, I wouldn't go out of my way to integrate C into a trip unless I was given to placebo effect. |
