Yea I've been there. I assume you're talking about buying herb, in which case you'll be treated legit like anyone else who buys from coffee shops. When I was there they still sold shrooms at the smart shops, although I seem to remember something about them doing away with that a while back. Maybe s_k can confirm.
Regarding anything else, you're very likely to come across shady dudes walking in the street and when they pass you they mutter "ecstacy, cocaine?". Don't even look at them. Fortunately before I went, I had done some research and the general consensus on those guys were that they were pedaling fake crap to clueless tourists, which is apparently an extremely successful market considering how many times I was approached.
Heh, eventually my friends and I got so sick of those guys accosting us that when we saw one coming to us, we started asking "kittens, puppies?"
They'd look at us weird and go "ecstasy, cocaine?" and we'd say something like "nah, we have plenty, but we have kittens and puppies we're trying to sell, you want some??"
The guys would just walk away at that point and we started doing that for the rest of the weekend, laughing our balls clean off every time at the reactions we'd get from these guys.

Haven't got a clue mate. I think Smartdrugs are legal here, and so is weed. So you should be able to find that, at least, in coffeeshops.
I can tell you there's no street selling ****. I've been to amsterdam many times, never encountered anything like that. Edit: Not a tourist, though :)
Never bought drugs in Amsterdam or Anywhere, though. I've only been in a coffeeshop once, I really can't give you any advice on that.

Yeah man I met a few guys in the Nav from places like this. They told me about ditch weed. Where they actually have bud that grows in the ditch, but almost no one is desperate enough to smoke it. If there were only a place that had fat, crystally buds growing out of the ditches.

I was really funny, even moreso than usual. Played Mario Kart and listened to some Scientist. Music is so much better high! Or at least Scientist was. Hence why I must do it again before too long.

Thats the best part. People constantly say well you just liked it while your smoking, and wont sober. But I would say 90% of the time I listen to music is while sober and the majority is stuff that I discovered while baked out of my mind because I went out on a limb and tried something different.

I agree with this, kind of. I couldn't get into Bjork until my friend played Vespertine on a loop while we were high. Now she's one of my favorites.

You don't need Weed to get high while listening to the Scientist man.
