I'm sure I came over the wrong way, and I am shocked and amazed about the way you guys talk about it, but I never meant to give you the idea I think you are ignorant or stupid.

Nevertheless I should say that I am disappointed at the way I am scolded and made fun of right now. I didn't think people here would (could?) be that rude.

Maybe this is a cultural thing, so I'll apologize and try to approach this a little more calmly.

You got assaulted because you posted in a thread where people who post in it *shock* probably do drugs.

As Americans, we generally don't take kindly to someone coming in acting as a parent to try to "educate" our irresponsible minds. The risks have been hammered into us since grade school. American pride is an issue that can definitely cause something like this, but all we really ask is that you respect that we have evaluated all the issues and have made our decision logically.

I daresay you have some faulty knowledge of drugs. The only thing harmful about weed at all is the fact that you have to smoke it, which is unhealthy no matter what.

Please do man. I'm not trying to be overly dramatic but these things really scare me away from a forum. It doesn't matter if it's me or anyone else who's treated unfair. I just can't stand injustice. I'll stay away from this topic from now on. Not out of principle, but if that's all I have to do to stay out of trouble, that's easy.

Allright. They weren't mentioned anyware and at some point someone (I don't even remember who) said 'what downsides' and when I mentioned risks someone went 'such as...'.
I even asked at some point if you guys were serious about not knowing the risks. I really thought you didn't. I didn't just assume you didn't, I really seemed to make that up out of the text you wrote.

I myself really (and I mean REALLY, it's one of the reasons I don't have a job) can't stand authority. I'll never ever tell anyone what to think or what to do. I'll just tell them what I think.

I think that too is a cultural thing.
Altough it might not seem too clear because of my English that's a bit childish now and then, I'm a pretty intelligent person. And I do know quite a big deal about life. But that's life here. It's not the same as there.
And I have discovered in my time here that I have a lot of faulty ideas about other countries and that people here have a faulty idea about the dutch.

In a nutshell: Some drugs are legal here (smartdrugs and weed, mainly), but I can tell you for sure that the dutch are a lot more scared of the downside of drugs than you seem to be.
I have to add one thing to that: Almost all people I know have some level of intelligence. I know that there's an entirely different world out there that I'm not a part of, including party drugs, XTC, GHB etcetera. And I can assure you that there's a huge differencde between the people taking those drugs and potsmokers.
So you guys might be right after all. Maybe I was a bit egocentric here.

But I'm going to educate you once again ,.
And I know it's something you all know and I know it's something I have to think about myself, too.

We shouldn't forget that the person you're writing to is actually a person. And altough you may be able to shut down your computer and go on with your "other" life, I can assure you that not everyone works that way.
I do take these things personal as they are directed to me, not to my nickname or my avatar or my IP adress.
This goes for lots of people. Not everyone makes a distinct seperation between online and real life.

And I must say I didn't like being called 15 years old and I didn't like being told **** you.
And even if I am over sensitive and even if I am the only person who reacts like this, which might be true, I never had the idea that I was normal or like anyone else, I hope that you (and I mean the entire forum, not just you guys, you already mentioned that ) will take this in consideration.

There's a lot on this forum that's good and I really like hanging out here. But these things really hurt me. And even if that's a strange thing, even if you tell me they shouldn't because this is 'the internet', they still do.
And what's more: I don't want to dislike any of you.
And I don't dislike any of you. I sure hope it'll stay that way for a very long time.

This over sensitive beardy drug free dutch 15-26 year old is going to get some sleep now.
